I make them, not my momma. I brown the ground beef with some minced onion and garlic. I then add some tomato paste, seasoning salt, brown sugar, and vinegar (just a little on the last two.) Then I add water to get the right consistency. Feel free to add garlic or onion pawder, too. YUM!

My momma doesn't make them.
I make mine with plenty of mushrooms, onions and garlic mixed in. Plain old tomato sauce and sweet relish do the trick for the sauce, but a non-traditional way I like to do it is to make the sauce out of condensed mushroom soup and sweet relish for a change every once in a while.

Ground round with diced green peppers and onions cook it until done then drain. Afterwards add a bottle of regular Kraft BBQ sauce. It has kick and is great. Is the way I make mine. I learned from the best.

My mother always used browned grown beef or turkey and then just added a few healthy squirts of ketchep and a few spoonfuls of sweet relish.
