As to the sniper legend: (taken from Wikipedia)
"Urban legends
Fred Rogers has been the subject of a few urban legends. Among the urban legends and rumors about Rogers[18]:
That he served in the military around the era of the Vietnam war, he was a Marine sniper, or a Navy SEAL.
Rumors to this effect have been completely discounted as being false on urban legend verification websites[18]. It is also false that he wears long-sleeved cardigans to cover tattoos on his arms. His military service is not mentioned in any biographies, and there is no period of time unaccounted for where he could have been involved in war efforts. During most of the Vietnam conflict, he was fully dedicated to his television show Mister Rogers' Neighborhood and before that, around the start of Vietnam, he was living and working in Canada, and was working on getting rights for his show and moving it to Pittsburgh."

He was also awarded the Medal of Honor for his service in WWII. If any it would be capt Kangaroo who Mr Rogers said when he was laying in the sand with bullets flying over him saved him by getting him up and moving. Mr. Rogers aka Fred Rogers and capt Kangaroo aka Bob Keeshan were truly Heroes in every sense of the word. Both men were war heroes who fought bravely and heroes after by teaching and entertaining children. I salute them both.

I hope he doesn't go there. God killed people just for not paying attention to them. If that is true, then heaven is ruled by a dictator. I would never wish such a bad thing on a nice guy like Fred Rogers.

no one is deserving of heaven, that is why God sent Jesus- even the best person on earth is a sinner- we can appear ok, to the world around us, but in comparison to God we are sinners. And there has to be payment for sin- and Christ paid that price on the cross.

God loves you just the way you are. He loves us all the same. His love for us will never die. He loves us dont forget no matter what we do. But he hates the sin. He can not look upon it. People who say they are Christian need to think about their walk with the Lord before they open their mouth. From what Ive read and heard him say Id say he had a relationship with Jesus Christ but only He knows the heart. Peace out..............

Going to Heaven isn't about deserving; if it were, NO ONE but Jesus would go there, not even Mr. Rogers! : ^ )
However, because of what Jesus did for us, we can go there anyway--and not only *go* there, but be welcomed and celebrated there! That's what grace means.
Blessings to you!

"The fight raged on for a century,
Many lives were claimed, but eventually
The Champion stood,
The rest saw their better --
Mr. Rogers in a blood-stained sweater!"

If you read the bible in it's original language then you can clearly see that it never mentions homosexuality. I can tell you the original Hebrew and Greek words that have been translated, but most people don't want to accept the truth. God is cool with gay people, after all, didn't he create them?
