I am an american (22 years old), who wants to marry a Colombian guy (24 y/o). I was wondering in what state(s) of the US, same-sex/gay marriage is accepted/valid ?
What should I do, so that after marrying him in another country, he can come along with me to the US and settle down here or in Canada.
If you can provide me with websites, I would really appreciate it!

look well first at all congrats for finding the love of ur life , second unfortunately in the USA there is a lot of closed minded people who still do not accept a relationship such as urs even when they know they will still happen not matter what . third Canada not the USA should be ur goal since it is accepted there already since people accept of the rights of others there . so good luck in Canada u two will be treated as a couple there , here in the USA well is just a matter of time . i just wanted to add that even when in Massachusetts it is legal for u two to get married that union is still not accepted everywhere in the USA and the situation is even worst when it comes to immigration , i pretty much think they are homophobes .
i investigated a bit about this and i found some info which may be helpful to u but i did noticed something , u would need to be a permanent resident of Canada or a citizen and getting married there , here is my source :

The only state I know that allows same-sex marraige in the U.S. is Massechuetts. I know that seeing reports in the news (preferably on websites) that they're trying to teach this kind of acceptance in sex education classes in that state. This "Little Black Book" they were handing out to students seemed very explicit.

Same sex marriage is legal nationwide in Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and South Africa. International same sex marriages are recognized only in Israel, Aruba and Netherlands Antilles. In the United States, Massachusetts recognizes same sex marriage but only between two American citizens.

Going to Canada is pretty much your only option since it is only in a few select states that same sex marriage is legal.

i heard from my gay friend that you could get married with same sex and she/he could get all the documents and papers and become legal. dont know if its true though
