If you are gaining muscle, you will put on weight. Would you rather carry a box of feathers or a box of lead. Of course a box of feathers is lighter. But in the same size box, filled with lead, will be much heavier even though the box is the same size. As a matter of fact, a smaller box will be heavier with the same amount of lead. You are a box that is becoming filled with lead ( muscle ) instead of feathers ( fat ). You are kicking ***

Ok...in the beginning when people start working out...they lose a little bit of wait. That is the decrease in the amount of fat that you have. However very soon after they gain it back and they hover around the same weight for a long time. What is happening is that as you lose fat, you are gaining muscle. If you truly want to lose weight, i suggest a heavy aerobics routine with slight weight training. Running and swimming are good ways to go. Swimming especially because you are giving your whole body a work out. Running will really help you to trim fat and a light weights routine will keep your muscles toned without causing them to bulk up.
running 3 - 4 times a week.
minimum half an hour. During and at the end of your run you should be able to talk normally without having to take a breather in between words, this way you know that you are burning fat rather than sugar.
swimming 2 - 3 times a week 45 minute sessions, just lane swimming, stroke of your preference but u can mix it up ... 4 freestyle then 2 breast and 2 back etc..
weights to be done together with aerobics, buy a good work out video/dvd that has a 20 - 30 minute session that uses light weights 8 - 12 lbs.
eat right and just be persistent. build up your routine and you will notice a difference.
I am by no means a professional trainer, but i do take kinesiology and health courses at university, so i know a little bit about it. For real info, can't hurt to ask a trainer at a local community center.
keep this up, don't break out of the routine that you set for yourself and note the changes on a weekly basis.
you will start noticing a change around the 4 - 6 week mark.

at first, you might not loose weight because you are adding muscle, don't let the scale discourage you from your workouts. You are loosing fat but gaining muscle so your weight is staying steady even though you are getting healthier and more fit.
The bottom line is that you need to burn more calories than you eat (and drink) to loose weight. So even though you only eat when you are hungry, you might still be eating too much. 30 minutes of brisk walking is great for you but it only puts a dent in your total calorie intake for the day. Try evaluating what you are eating, as well as how much you're eating, and look for other ways to add little workouts to your day like parking farther away and taking the stairs instead of an elevator etc.

Fast walk is better than walk, but depends on whether you are comfort for doing it since you got a problem with your foot. Try to adjust time for meal, don't eat before or right after your exersice. With what you're doing, you will slowly losing weight. How slow, I have no idea

Eat more often (not just when you feel hungry) but eat less at each meal. This will increase your metabolism which will help you burn more calories. Keep up the exercise too and I you should notice results.

you are now gaining muscle mass. mainly in your legs, i'm going through the same thing right now. Muscle weighs more than fat, so for all the fat you loose, you are gaining almost one and half muscle weight.

You probably are burning fat, and building muscle. And muscle is denser than fat.
Without knowing your height and weight, I can't say much more. But it could be that you are in fact at your proper weight.
