How about God condoning slavery for about 2000 years, until the 1860's when our morals surpassed even God Almighty's, and we ended up outlawing slavery...

Seems more moralistic and ethical of us, no?

That's tough. I want to cite recent hate-crime legislation, but I don't know if special treatment is moral in those cases. Special attention to hate-speech might be evidence, but crucifying Mel Gibson and Don Imus might not be completely ethical. Oh! I've got it! Star Trek TNG is evidence, and the X-men too! Yaaaay, we're gonna make it!

Well, in the last two decades, we've decided we need to impose our Western morals and ethics on Middle Eastern populations (but NOT to secure oil interests - I repeat NOT to secure oil interests.)

That sorta indicates more morals, right?

A greater effort is being made in defending human rights than ever before. Governments of oppression are identified and made to provide for their people... if necessary, force is used to insure compliance. The previous century is filled with examples supporting this.
