Absolut is classic and the best tasting, Skyy has a very nice finish to it and is more affordable, Smirnoff is ok. They make nice flavored drinks, wine-coolers or flavored beers mostly. Gray Goose is a great choice of vodka although it can be pricey. And if you really want to spend some money I suggest Svedka or Van Gogh!

Enjoy and drink responsibly!!

Which vodka is better? Skyy is a slightly more expensive, better vodka. I like vodka with some diet 7-Up or Sprite. Straight vodka shots are nice with some good vodka if you want to get crazy with it.

Skyy is Okay vodka, Denaka is the best i've ever had, and i heard about it from a rich doctor who really liked his vodka. Denaka is cheaper than all 3 too (about $11/bottle around here).

A liquor gentleman stated that Skyy Vodka is better for hang overs. I tried Absolut, there is something different about it...something that makes it worse.

1) Skyy
2) Smirnoff
3) Absolut

If I drink it straight: Grey Goose

In a mixed drink: Smirnoff, It's cheap, and you don't taste the vodka in a mixed drink anyway, why use a $20.00 bottle?

Favorite drink: Vanilla Smirnoff and A&W root beer

Favorite shot: Kamakazee

Out of those I prefer Skyy. Try Stoli if it's available where you are. I've been told that it's one of the few true Russian vodkas sold in North America, the rest have been "Americanized". But that's just what I was told.

Stolichnaya. Nobody makes it better than the people who invented it, contrary to what Madison Avenue would have you think. Russians do it the best.

A true vodka is supposed to be colorless, tasteless and odorless. A lot of newer companies are infusing their products with a lot of things that alter the character somewhat. That in my opinion doesn't make it true vodka.

The beauty of a really great vodka is that it takes on the characteristics of whatever you mix it with, and in a perfectly blended drink you won't even know it's there at all.

I have not drank in several years, but when I did I remember one situation with vodka. It was Absolute.
I lived on Bronson Ave. in an apartment complex. This was 1988. Rent was $450 for a studio apt. There was always a party going on in someones unit. One day we got several bottles of Absolute and put them in the freezer to get cold...that's the last I remember.
I just remember being broke all the time. From that party we somehow ended up with 3 bottles of the RED ABSOLUTE- IT WAS SPICY. YUKKK!!!!!!!
My friend Tony and I lived upstairs. We weren't the alcoholics we thought everyone else was... Or so we thought.
One thing we were was Poor, young , and stupid- Oh' that's 3 things...anyway, as nasty as that spicy crap was, we managed to keep ourselves wasted for another few days. We had to drink it straight from the bottle because we had nothing to mix it with.
And yeah' we worked all the while. I was a butcher in the Beverly center, and Tony worked for his priest buddy Greg and at Oceanway studios as a gofer.
I just remember a major hangover while I was riding that loud *** moped to work . That bright California sun didn't help much either. Ah' those were the days.
P.S. we weren't posers either, just a couple of stupid drunks!

Skyy

I'm a big vodka fan and my buddy likes smirnoff.
Often he'll bring some to parties and we'll do taste tests with people and the SKYY which I prefer usually wins.

It's the smoothest and tastes less like rubbing alcohol than the others.

All of those are not that great. I love vodka and diet pepsi. It's not actually my first choice, but since I'm watching my calories, its a good choice for me. I prefer Ketel One or Grey Goose. They have a smoother finish. Another perk to drinking better vodka is that the hangovers aren't nearly as bad. I get the world's worst hangover from Smirnoff.
