I'm a public relations major, top of my class, and I only accepted this position because it would involve a lot of communications. However, it's turned out to be nothing but administrative support. They completely misled me about the job and I really want to leave...

I graduated in May so I don't have much experience other than a year working as a communications intern for a major corporation.

You're just out of school, so I wouldn't worry too much. I think employers nowadays expect a few blips like that on a younger person's resume. You have that year-long stint, so that'll help. If you can, stick it out a couple of months, but if not, don't worry about it too much. If asked, just say something about how that job wasn't meeting your needs, but you're excited about this opportunity.

I think you can easily justify finding a new job under the circumstances, especially if you were misled. Don't quit your current job until you find something else, but I encourage you to go ahead and look! Good luck!

Get out now. You have more than enough justification.

Leave gracefully, but never list it on an application.

When the new employer asks why you are leaving, you reply that you are serious about your future career and want a position more in line with your career goals.

no it wouldn't be wrong. If you don't love the job now, you will never love it. If you do leave, don't forget to give the company your two weeks notice. They may have to give you a recommendation some day. Good luck.
