I believe if you are "in Christ" you are predestined for salvation, but if you are not "in Christ" you are predestined for wrath.
I think any doctrine if taken to unreasonable extremes becomes error. If you think you are predestined for life and therefore begin to live like hell I think you are deceived. On the other hand if you live in constant fear that if you make one false step God is going to cut you off and assign you a portion with the unbelievers, then I don't think you have yet come to know God very well.

Predestination is only because in time we can only make one choice. We can not go back and change it. In the end we will have made our choices and it will be finished. God is beyond time and space. We out of our own free will made our choices as we interacted with God choosing to listen or reject him. God can see our choices and him self through time. He interacts with us in just a way that will give us freedom to choose weather to believe him or follow what we want. This is also the reason for prophecy and why it is possible.
lots of people are full of the mis conception that if there is predestination there is not free will. Predestination is a poor word however. It should be called an ultimate and single future.
Edit: I have just reciently reconsidered that there may be people whom God placed on earth specificaly so that others may come to know him who would not have other wise. Just as Jesus was predestined and came that all men might be saved. Its an interesting thought but it would Join both sides the ones who think there is free will and the ones who believe in predestination. That way there is free will and undetermined future and also for some a defined future. I am not sure however. Its a deep question.

I believe in predestination, but not the way that other believe in it.
John 3:16 God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believith on him shall have ever lasting life.
See anyone can make it to heaven, everyone is predestined to go to heaven but it is only those that choose to accept Christ or not that is going to heaven.
See hell was not made for man, but for the fallen angels, The word says that the borders of hell are increased everyday because of the wickedness of man,
There is also a scripture in Galatians that says that all men are predestined for heaven.

Predestination could in fact limit our freewill, but the Bible says:
Proverbs 16:9
A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
So, whilst not being completly predestined there is something about God being sovereign that allows him to FOREORDAIN.
Foreordination: This is the method by which God decrees and determines a particular outcome and is most closely related to predestination. It is related to both people and events in Scripture

Free agency, right? I'm not Christian, and that was highly rude of you to post a question on a public forum and ask only a select few. However, I forgive you.... that's what Jesus would do, right?
The line between predestination and free agency is a tricky one for Christians - but I think free agency would prevail hands down becuase God would never put the brain of a sexual deviant in church leaders, right? Why would he?

Depends on your definition of predestination. Since God knows what we'll do, there's predestination from that point of view. We still make the choices, however.

Predestination is another part of the infinate paradox that is the concept of the christian god
If predestination is true then we have no free will and god isn't loving because he knows when he creates someone they will go to hell
If predestination is not true then god can not be omniscient because he would not know the choices we make and so he by definition is not god

I do not believe in predestination, if God had decided at the beginning of time that all was going to be, than he would not have gave us free will, and believe me, we do have free will,
nothing is set in stone

I do not believe in predestination. I have a 17 page research paper on the topic...but it's a bit too lengthy to post here.
If you want it, email me and it's yours.

Short and the the point:
Predestination can't be true, because then that would rule out the fact that God is Love (1 John 4:8).
How can loving God, predestine people to die such terrible deaths? you see it wouldn't make sense.
I tried to keep it short, if you want more info email me.
