My twins are going to turn 1 in September. Their names are Christopher and Erica. Christopher is the roudy bully who pulls his sister's hair and tries to eat her and sit on her. He tries to bulldoze his way through everything that has a crack in it. Erica is the one who babbles and says hi and waves. She gets stranger anxiety. She smiles a lot and she's got two teeth. Her brother has none. They search for each other when the other doesn't see them around. Christopher is like 22lbs. and Erica is only 17 lbs. What am I to do with them on their birthday for turning 1? Anyone have any suggestions?

You should really plan a small party at home or somewhere the babies are comfortable. And since Erica has stranger anxiety it would definantly be best to keep her in familiar surroundings, that way if she gets too upset you can take her to her bedroom or wherever she is most comfortable. Make it simple, a cake, some food, and closest relatives and friends. Make it relaxed, take pictures, eat, enjoy your babies, and have fun!

At home in an environment that they find familiar, they is going to be a lot of fuss etc that day so adding an unfamiliar environment to mix is asking for trouble.

Do what you believe is best for the twins not what you think will look the best to your peers, ie don't splash out because you think that will make you look a better parent.

For all 3 of my children we had their 1st b-day parties at our home with family and close friends. And that is usually all most people do. They are just turning 1 and they won't even know it is their b-day, or much less understand the special meaning of the day. My suggestion is to just stay at home and keep it small, and just enjoy your little ones. They grow so fast and before you know it they will be grown and out of your house. Good Luck!

I would just have some friends over the house. They have no idea that it's a special day. Save all the anxiety of parties for when they are older.

First of all, don't be like one of those parents who gets their 1 year olds a 1,000,000 dollar party. Their just 1 and they won't even remember their birthday party so don't make it anything special.

my daughter is turning one also and we opted to have a party for her at home because they dont know what day it is and they will still want a nap and such. since we have toddlers and 5 year olds in the family we are renting a bouncing tent for them to play in and we did rent an elmo costume so someone can be elmo (daughter loves him) i am a twin and my mom had our first birthday at their house also.

I would definitely do it at home. There is nothing saying you have to do a big to-do for the 1st birthday. Kids are more comfortable at home.

Have fun with it!

Just have a party at your home. That's easiest.
