Playing monsters is a way for children to deal with a scary world. By being the zombie they take the power from their fear. I think your kids realize this game is just for fun and don't really want to eat people or be zombies. But they are disobeying you which I think is a bigger problem. I would take them gently by the arm and make them sit alone for a few minutes and add time if they pertend to bite. If you are consistant they will get the message. I would tell them they can play their game but only if they mind you when you say to stop. I think there is no harm with "zombie". At least they're being active.

Wow... Its just a game, get over it. "Un-godly"? Are you serious? ITS A GAME! They are HAVING FUN. I don't usually react so strongly as this but reading the bible to them nightly has nothing to to with playing a game. It is not like they are practicing Voodoo. Give them a break and let them be kids.

Have you tried linking this to the passage about Satan, prowling around, seeking whom he may devour?
The hardest thing in the world to do is to stop doing something just to stop. AA substitutes meetings and conversations for drinking. Effective anti-teenage sex programs add leadership development and future orientation. Stopping smoking often involves gum or candy or toothpicks.
Find something else for your kids to do that they absolutely love. Find some games or pastimes, whether sports or crafts or collecting things.
This looks like a game they like that gets Mom "going." Since you have clearly not inculcated "Mother must be obeyed at once and in all instances" as a value, they are not going to stop because you say so. You can follow some substitution suggests or you can make this a line in the sand issue where you remove all their preferred belongs, disconnect the cable and go all out to stop it. My opinion, as a mother of 25 years, is that going all out is wasting that strategy on a small issue, another 6 months and the game will be a funny memory, maybe even for you. As a life-long Christian, I can say that you will need an all-out strategy for a bigger issue before they're grown.

I appualed your efforts to raise well mannered, god fearing childern. As a teacher I appericate every time a parnet makes an effort to teach childern high ideals. This game may only be harmless child's play that should just be seen as a form of exercise or it may be more. If it bothers you, as a parent that obviously cares deeply for your childern and thier well being you should stop it. Rememeber to talk to your childern about how you don't feel that is apporpiate then offer them a new game or activity to replace it. If they pretend to bite you the punishment should be immedate and equal to the crime.
If this game continues contact your childerns teacher and discuss it with them, see what context it is being played at school. If you ask the teacher may stop the students from playing it.
Your childern might not understand the moral implications of the bible stories you are reading them now but they will as they grow up. Also it is wonderful time for them to connect with you and learn. Their are so many harsh things in this world I don't understand why anyone would chastise you for offering your childern a view of hope and love.

Hi this is whats known as junk behavor. The more you go on about it the mor ethe kids will do it. It kindo f a game with in a game. They see it winds you up and they get a response. They are not rebelling against the bible thay are kids being kids. You dod similar things to your parents when you were a kid... I am sure it was nt Zombies.. but like me mom dad sasi dont do tha some one will get hurt... in my day Kung Fu was on tv ( david carridine) so i was chopping everything.. Parents said dont.. I still did... especially as it bugged them..
They are testing the limits...
You have choices... leave it and the kids will get tired of it
Put them in time outs for not doing as they are told and they might stop .
Its it really hurting any one.. except your beleif .
Did you just start reading from the bible to them becasue of this?? If so then I think you are going to the extreme and almost treated the kids as if they are possessed...
Its a game nothing more nothing less.

Ignore the game. They'll probably tire of it and go on to the next game they hear. Lots of young kids pretend to eat each other or other's parts. Natural play to see what is real and what isn't. How old are the kids? Seems normal play and not a religious matter.

Kids use their skills to play new and exciting games. Since going to school offers many new experiences, kids will learn things from other kids that may not be appreciated by everyone.
Since children's games come and go.. just sit this one out and let them play and be kids. Ever since I can remember, kids have been playing "cops and robbers" and its unlikely they grow up to be felons.
Congratulate yourself on being a loving, concerned parent. If you are still concerned, try joining your child in this game and guide them away from the cannibalism while still having fun.
Hope I helped!

I'm pretty sure God has enough of a sense of humor to find the game funny. He or she would probably be less pleased that you allow your kids to treat you like that without some firm discipline. Put your children in time-out when they disobey. Reading the Bible to them every night isn't going to make them obedient, just sleepy. They need to respect you before they will be able to respect God!

I really don't think it's something you need to worry about. I doubt your children are even thinking about the religious or moral implications of what they're doing - they're just having fun. It's pretend, and pretty soon they'll outgrow it or get bored and move on to another game. Honestly, I don't think it's any different than pretending to eat a baby's toes, or playing monsters, or any of that other stuff people do with kids.
