It seems a familar theme, that many people after going through a rough time in their lives, end up going to church and finding Jesus to be their Lord & Savior. I was just wondering how many people here, turned to a different source. How many people became Jews, or Muslims or Hindu or Buddhist etc...
You don't have to say what your lifestyle was before you converted or refound your religion just wondering, how many decided to be a non-Christian.

I was just wondering because I looked at my friends and family, I know someone who was Jewish and now is a Muslilm. I also know someone who was a Jehova Witness and now they are a Buddhist. And a Catholic who is now a Jew.

I have a "postmodern" faith, and by that i just mean in our day and age it is no longer possible to remain completely unaware of the fact that there are many valuable and beautiful ways for human beings in this world to experience Love Light and Beauty.
To reply a little more closely, I was raised Christian, became very very interested in meditation and, especially Zen Buddhist practice. And through those latter practices, I feel i have a so much greater respect and understanding of Christianity.
Though I no longer feel any need to "join" just one religion or another.
(I'm in love : ) )

I don't belong to any faith. I think each and every one that I've explored have flaws that can't be explained or ignored. I've prayed about it and so far as I can tell, God doesn't mind me using my brain to make up my own mind about what's right or wrong. When in doubt, I listen to my conscience.
I now consider myself to be non christian, even though many of my beliefs got their origins there. I do believe in God, just not in religion. I've found it's best to trust in my own instincts instead of trust in a book that was written and translated by humans capable of committing human errors.

Christianity says that Jesus is the only way to find God. Why? Because the others were just men, incapable of saving themselves and others from death. But Jesus took the judgment of God for us with his shed blood upon the cross, and afterwards conquered it by rising from the dead. Without his perfect sacrifice, you would be held accountable by God for your sins, and your life He would require. In addition, your denial of the only Saviour would reveal your true nature to God, and result in your casting into the lake of fire.
