I'm thinking of training with the fire department and was wondering if anyone could give me any info on the training process. I'm a girl and I was wondering if this would be something I could do. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Go to your local firestation and ask the firefighters there. They won't mind. And yes, there is a lot of physical labor required, but there's many female firefighter/paramedics out there too.

It is hard physical labor. You would have to pick up ladders, climb them. Hoses are very hard to control when there is 200 pounds of water pressure in them. You would have to do all of this with 60 pounds of protective clothing and gear on.
