Jehovah's Witnesses already believe and teach that Jesus is a god. The bible plainly uses the term "god" to describe an elevated person. The word is used to describe Jehovah, Jesus, Satan, various angels, and even human judges. None of that implies that there is any Almighty God other than Jehovah (God the Father).

Jehovah's Witnesses fully understand and agree that Jesus Christ the Son deserves and receives what can be described as "worship", but only when the English-language word "worship" has been properly defined. The obeisance and honors due the Christ should remain unambiguously subject to the "exclusive devotion" which is owed to the Father, Jehovah God. The Scriptures quite plainly show that true worship is uniquely devoted to the person of Almighty Jehovah God the Father. His Son, Jesus, personally taught that Jehovah deserves a unique form of "sacred service".

(Matthew 4:10) Jesus said... ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’

(Luke 4:8) Jesus said... ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’

(Exodus 20:5) I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion

Jehovah the Father specifically directs that Jesus the Son receive obeisance and honor. Note that Jesus is at God's right hand and has *BECOME* better than the angels.

(Hebrews 1:6) [God] says: “And let all God’s angels do obeisance to him [Jesus].”

(Hebrews 1:3-4) [Jesus] sat down on the right hand of the Majesty in lofty places. So he has become better than the angels

From where does Christ's authority come?

(Matthew 28:18) And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth.

(Acts 2:36) God made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you impaled.

(John 3:35) The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.

(Acts 5:31) God exalted this one as Chief Agent and Savior to his right hand

(Psalm 2:2-6) The kings of earth take their stand And high officials themselves have massed together as one Against Jehovah and against his anointed one... Jehovah himself will hold them in derision..., Saying: “I, even I, have installed my king [Jesus]

Did the Jewish government think of Jesus became into claiming to be God in: John 10:33 - No They have been claiming that he made himself 'a god,' not 'God.' The Greek text cloth lacks the confident article. it is not an analogous grammar as John a million:a million, a pre-verbal predicate nominative, so Trinitarian John a million:a million arguments do not artwork here. The grammar extra heavily suits Acts 28:6, the place maximum if not all translations have 'a god,' and not 'God.' as nicely, the context exhibits 'God' wasn't meant. John 10:30 does not propose one God, from now on than a million Cor 3:8 meant one guy. And Jesus' reaction commencing in John 10:34 would not make experience if he thought they meant 'God.' It makes appropriate experience if he thought they meant 'a god.' John 5:18 - No The Jews thought that Jesus became into 'making himself equivalent to God,' not 'making himself God.' there's a extensive distinction. Why did they think of this? because of fact he became into breaking the Sabbath and calling God his Father - not often grounds for claiming to be God. And it relatively is the Jews' accusation, not a declare of Jesus. in actuality, Jesus thought the contrary in accordance to Philippians 2:6.

Jews claimed he was God, Jesus did not.

John 5:18 - On this account, indeed, the Jews began seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath but he was also calling God his own Father, making himself equal to God.

However, Jesus labeled these Jews Liars. Sons of the devil. Murders.

John 8:44 Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.

Jesus corrects them saying,

“Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said: “You are gods”’?

Jesus is indicating that he is a god, not God. Trinitarians prefer to believe the Sons of the devil over Jesus.

probably not. And if they did have a moment of revelation they would just go back to their elders who would 'explain' away how everyone else had it wrong.....
They have their own mistranslation (NWT)...........
(LOL---> *grins* i have a copy of it *grins*). You'd be surprised at what is misquoted.... nearly EVERY verse on Jesus' authority and key scriptures on the The Supreme Divinity of God. And his 3-in-1 persona. (i.e., doctrine of the trinity). But *grins* fortunately NOT ALL of the scriptures are deleted or falsely "edited". The REAL Bible doesnt have conflicting verses or doctrines ..... but their version does.... *grins* I could prove their doctrine was wrong/false and conflicting simlply using THEIR own bible and a REAL bible (any version, their choice) LOL and nothing else.
*grins* ah but, see they dont accept other versions (NIV, KJV, NKJV, ASB, etc) so... i can even proove their docrtine false just using their own NWT and watchtower/awake publications ONLY. *grins* (but sadly, their so brain-washed i doubt they'd listen. Not many JW's ever come to the full knowledge of how they've been deceived, even if you show them the error).....

Pestie58 & TeeHee--> where'd you get that from? IT IS the theme of the Bible..... Jesus' claims to be God are based on the Scriptural prphecies of the comming Messiah. While any crazy can claim to be God...... everything surrounding his life were OT prophicies fulled... where he was born, things he did as a child... when he was born, where his parents were born, Their family lineage (which is VERY RELAVANT to the fulfillment of the identity of the Messiah, scripturally)..... things that you cannot fake or make up. And while you're right, people can claim to be whatever they want... there was evidence to support Jesus' claims. It is true people could "fake a miracle" just like magicians and false prophets use visual illusions to fool and decieve nieve people.... (and thats what some of the people in Jesus' day thought of Him.) But as he in rebuttal to this said, "a house divided against it self cannot stand.. " - if Jesus never claimed to be God incarnite, he would never have been put to death for 'blasphemy' at the hands of the religious leaders, and if He was NOT really God, he would not have been able to rise from the dead.... or raise the dead........

Yes we know that Jesus is a god, of course the son of an american is an american , but that doesn´t mean that is his father, Jesus is the most powerful god after the almighty (John 14:28) but what you don´t know is that all angels are called sons of God almighty (Job 1:6 and 2:1) also God almighty calls gods to his sons (Psalms 82:1,6)

Do you knew that?

The quotes in the NT are from the Greek Septugint Bible.

In Greek, Ex 3:14 read "I am the Being" For Jesus to be quoting this verse at John 8:58, He would have had to say

'Before Abraham was, The Being'

the question but forth to Jesus in this chapter was 'How old are you?' not what is your name?

To prove Jesus is God, you have to misquote scripture.

I remember the one who was going to prove the trinity to me:

He read John 10:30 three times from his bible.

Each time he read, 'I and the Father are one Person'

When I asked to show me the word 'person', he started to point to his bible, stopped and said 'It's not there'.

I agreed.

Now that would make them look silly!

I've got an idea!

Why don't you show us a place in the Holy Bible where Jesus clearly states: I am God OR Worship me.

If you can then there is no excuse for the JW's

Jesus is a God, even a Mighty God
not the Almighty God, YHWH.

Believe me, we've already tried. The answer for most of them is no -- they have their own mis-translation that removes nearly all proof texts for this. The ones the WBTS overlooked have all been explained by formulas that are so excruciatingly complex and non-sensical that the hearer can only walk away in frustration.

However, there are a few who are touched by the Holy Spirit and they do listen and repent. As a result, there are a number of ex-JWs who post here, who are now born again Christians.

EDIT: pestie, if you compare Exodus 3:13-14 with John 8:56-58, you'll see that Jesus clearly equated Himself with the Angel of the LORD (God).

Even if he claimed it, that wouldn't make it so. I assume you refer to the scripture where he says "I and the father are one?" They would argue that he goes on to say to his followers, "I want you to be one just as we are one." Meaning in total agreement, I suppose. His followers never claimed to be part of the godhead, surely? Anyway, the entire question is moot. If I said I was Elvis, would you take my word for it?
