Yes it does, Ticlesh:
But it goes much deeper than those who knew Him laying their lives on the line for what they knew was truth.
Jesus fulfilled many Messianic prophecies, like being sold for 30 pieces of silver, born in Bethlem of Epretath, dying the death of a cross, even Daniel 9 predicted the exact year of His death.
But you have writings of those who knew and touched Him. And they established Bishops in Christian churches.
There are many available writings of early sermons by these bishops, and they tell the same story. In fact, Polycarp, the aged bishop of Ephesus, claimed to be the only living disciple as he was instructed personaly by Christ's disciples.
Polycarp prayed for his captors as he was led to the arena to be executed. He was beaten until his bones were exposed, then thrown in a dungen overnight. The next day as they whipped him, his bent body straightened to full stature. When they could not get him to renounce the Savior, they tied him to a post and built a fire around it.
Those flames did not touch him, but formed a perfect vault and illuminated his body. He would not die, so a gladiator was dispached to kill him. The fluid that spilled from his pierced side steamed from the fire and filled the arena with a beautiful fragrance.
The spectators were awed and thought they had killed a god. Such is the testimony of people who died for what they believe.
In addition, if you read the Bible cover to cover, you would find one part that could not be understood until the close of history. You can understand it at http://abiblecode.tripod.com IT PROVES MATHEMATICALLY THAT JESUS IS THE MESSIAH, EXACTLY WHO HE CLAIMED TO BE.
In God's peace, Ben Yeshua

It interesting that so many said the Bible is not a historical document. I have read just the opposite. There are many references that are historically correct concerning the time period in the Bible. From what I have read the Bible is considered and authentic, historical document. It is also considered that Jesus was a true historical person. This does not prove he was the Messiah...only that he existed.
The belief that he is the Son of God and the Savior is a matter of faith.

And on the Christian side, read "The Signature Of God" by Grant R.Jeffrey for a good read about scientific evidence, which may support the Bible as truth. The Bible may not need to be taken in absolute literal terms, but the morals of the book, God inspired, should still be taken seriously. Christ's existance, and the Bible's claim that He is the Messiah, seems to be supported quite well, throughout the Bible itself, and throughout historical literature.

Here are some links that will explain what the Messiah does and where he comes from, what type of a human being he will be, what are the circumstances of his birth, how many times he comes to do what he is supposed to do (once), all according to the original - God on Mt. Sinai, as given in the Torah and taught by Judaism.
After reading these you'll know more about it than 99% of Christians and will have the knowledgable answers to your question.

If you take the Bible at face value (which I do), you will find over 300 Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah. Jesus fulfilled almost all of them. The prophecies not fulfilled are still future, and will be fulfilled when He returns.
Many of the prophecies that Jesus fulfilled could not be arranged, like where, when, and how he would be born, how he was to die, etc.
Others, deliberately fulfilled, like when he read aloud from the scroll of Isaiah and proclaimed, "This day this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."
I hope this helps.

Yes. Some prophesies date back 1,000 years before his birth telling where he would be born and when. Also in what family line, effectively who his parents would be.
After his birth, what he would do, where he would go. What his purpose was. How he would enter Jerusalem the last time. How he would die, the manner, and how his bones would not be broken as was the general practice. How he would be resurrected and what he would do after.

The Bible holds up to any other "historical" document for validity quite well. But, ultimately, nothing can completely prove the concept. Only when you personally seek out the truth through faith, will you have all the "proof" you need. It requires an active seeking and faith on your part though.

Read the book Misquoting Jesus. It is a book that provides tangible evidence that a majority of the bible is falsified and made up. How can you trust such a book to be truthful?

Yes it does....unfortunately, no matter what the proof is people will choose to not believe...explain it away in some other fashion...
I find it strange that people will accept the existence of big foot and UFOs ...and deny Jesus.....

They give very strong evidence of it, but prayer and meditation are what furnished the final proof (for me at least).
