Not like I have much of a choice over this.

And while I could go away and try to work through all of this on my own, my friends have repeatedly encouraged me to stay and work it through here.

The death of loved ones, being abandoned by those who encourage you to trust them, all of these are challenging experiences for anyone. And while I hope my participation here leads to helpful insights, I also hope my candour and vulnerability helps others address their problems.

It has often been said of our society that one (especially men) should never show vulnerability in public: because people will rip you to shreds like a pack of dogs.

I have found only some people will do that. Some will try to help.

Being a wounded warrior-poet may not cut a dashing figure, but it is what I am at this time.

And even if no one else knew me before the wounding, at least I did.

And no one wants this wound healed more than I.

What say you?

It's good to leave here, to remember, to live and to remember to live.
Through a labyrinth of obstacles we’ve erected about our souls we struggle to find validation and the hope of encouragement here.
We arrive to recall our awareness and expose ourselves to a court of foreign critique where we may find this glory of care or the shame of disregard by way of the opinions of strangers. Two things the self fears first is death and worse still is embarrassment.
You live, so this wound you mention will not kill you.
Rest, heal, and be strengthened by the fortification of your hope.
Return when again you know the light of your soul can outshine the darkness of misinformed scrutiny and the harsh glare of self appointed accusers.
Know that kindred souls find no joy by your absence taking heart that you will return refreshed.
Orion you are loved.

Blessed Be!

Men are human too. Why should they not be allowed to show their emotions? You are who you are. When a person hides their emotions (woman or man) their hiding half themselves.
If a poet you want to be.. poet you are.
And if people rip you to shreds pick up the pieces and start again. God Bless
