Nope..not in the least.
You can't be responsible for someone's perspective. Now a bra and panties might have been looked at as an invitation...lol
I think you were just fine. Workmen are not fashion plates either, dear.
I call the play "in bounds"... play ball!!

I don't see anything wrong with it.
Note....please be careful though. I know that it's your house and I totally agree that you can do and wear whatever you want. But....What if these guys were perverts? I mean the kind of pervert who would find you appealing and then decide to do something to you.
It happened here in Michigan recently. A woman let the plumber in. While he was fixing whatever it was, he decided that he liked this lady's jewerly. He robbed her at gunpoint, then realized that what he'd done was stupid because they can easily find him, so he killed her.
BE CAREFUL WHEN HOME ALONE OR ONLY WITH KIDS. YOU NEVER KNOW IF IT'LL BE JACK THE RIPPER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR.
Sorry for sounding like a paranoid psycho, but things happen to people like this all the time.

This is less in answer to the question than some of the responses. IF someone cares about etiquette, it's about not making other people feel uncomfortable (not what fork to use or such nonsense). So if you suspect that what you wear or don't wear will make that person uncomfortable, and you would rather not do that, then wear something else.
This assumes, of course, some level of rational thought on their part, too. If jeans and a flannel shirt make someone uncomfortable, they're not part of the discussion.
But unless you feel the person has somehow deserved slightly rude behavior, why not avoid it?

Yes, sorry. Workers are their for a professional job and they expect to have a professional relationship with you. If you're in your jammies, that's not very professional. And it could be interpreted as, "I'm ready for bed, boys, how 'bout you?" Which, of course, is NOT the impression that you were intending to make, but it is an understandable interpretation of what a lady wearing her silk p.js. might be trying to say.

I would have still thrown on some clothes. When I am expecting someone early in the morning, I wake up a little earlier to make sure I have time to get dressed and get myself together before they arrive. Especially if your kids had something to do at 8 am and that's the time they were supposed to be there, you could have gotten yourself together a little better. I have 4 kids and am 5 months pregnant with my 5th and somehow find the time. :)

Put yourself in his shoes, what would you think about an attractive woman answering the front door wearing form fitting silk pajamis...regardless of what time you answered the knock on the door? I'm a guy, but I never answer the door wearing just my boxers and a t-shirt, so why should u wear just pj's.

You don't have to put on an evening gown, but at least some sweats or something. My best friend will wear PJ's driving around, so that's worse, but you look unready if your still wearing PJ's. People won't know what to think.

PJ's and a robe (you were expecting them). My rule is, you come before 8:30, ya get what ya get, no apologies.

Sounds normal but if you had time to do all that you could have thrown on a pair of jeans and a t shirt as well.
