My daughter recently had her tonsils and adnoids removed. Upon going to the doctors for her yearly physical, her primary care doctor told her that her soft pallet is very uneven and needs to be seen by her ENT. Not sure whats going on, does anyone know anything? Thank you

Does she regurgitate food or liquid from her nose when she swallows? Does she have air escape her nose when she talks? If the answer is "no" to both questions, she does not need to have her soft palate fixed (or even seen by an ENT), since it is not interfering with function. I've seen many patients with an uneven soft palate, and most function perfectly well.

could be a small cleft palate but she would have been born with it. check this page out
