I would get a second opinion your cat's diagnosis of "twitchy cat disease." Sometimes vets don't specialize in cats, but more in dogs. Make sure that your vet specializes in felines and truly cares for them.

Oh, Lord, don't get your cat's tail cut off. I can barely understand what you're saying (pay more attention in English class).

The vet diagnosed "twitchy cat disease" but did not treat it? You need a new vet. Give your cat plenty of playtime and exercise and help him get over whatever in your house is making him stressed.

It sounds like your vet is talking about atypical neurodermatitis (I ran a search on twitchy cat disease) Did you actually take him in to the vet, or just talk to him on the phone? because the article I found says there are treatments for it.

get your cat some new toys to play with....at the shelter I work at there is a cat that use to attack her tail and I put a variety of toys in her cage and she hasn't had a problem with it since.
