I mean come on! I come on here every day to answer questions about whatever and at least once a day I will see the inevitable "why do athiests" question. Not only do they attack athiests about how we are, but they usually type a short story with some history lesson about how they were messed up by one.

This is one athiest who is tired of it, and I know the responses will be from both sides and frankly cant wait to hear why im a jerk about this question.

Its your perogative to believe in God, but who are you to tell me and my family that my lack of faith is wrong, and try to prove it with some event from the past?

Your silly beliefs are not my problem, and I will not stand to be attacked on an internet blog anymore.

Here is a test:

Re-type your question and change Christian to Atheist and the other way around.

It fits as well.

Anyone who generalizes is wrong. Every time, no matter who is doing the generalizing.

Attacks are going both ways I will condemn the Christian attacks as wrong, will you condemn the Atheist attacks as wrong also?

Peace be with you and your family.

Here is my answer - same as to the guy who posted the "christian' version of it.

Perhaps if you cannot handle adult discussion, smart allecky responses, sarcasm or anything else you find here you should find another internet blogging ground to play in.

Each person has the freedom to write whatever they choose and have whatever beliefs they choose to have. Each person also has the right to choose how they will react to another's comments or questions. If you perceive that you are under attack, then everything that is stated that is not the same or agrees with your world view is an attack in your mind only.

Take back responsibility for how you perceive the world around you and how you interpret words that are merely typed on a screen, they are not always the same as the truth or even truly match up to the screwed up filters in your mind.

If you come here to answer non-religious questions, don't be upset by the posters on those boards. Hiding in anonominity, there are a bunch of atheists who post pointless questions that call anyone who believes in God stupid, and then a bunch of Christians who post pointless counter questions back to them that are usually just as mean.

I guess what I'm saying is that if you haven't been sucked into that yet, good for you. Ignore the Religion section unless you want to be sucked into a pointless namecalling match. Now that I've warned you, I don't want to hear it--post to another question containing an attack on your atheism, and you've joined the idiots. Stay out of that section and answer questions that actually matter.

...I am a Christian believer - if this is an open forum, why can't all beliefs be represented and talked about? Some of us aren't as tolerant as we profess to be - this is humanity, good and bad, so get used to it. Atheist, Christians, and others are challenged on this site, sometimes in a healthy way that fosters discussion, but often in a subjective, hateful way, without caring for what others are saying.

====> Points to Ponder
1. Nobody can be everyone's buddy.
2. To disagree with someone is not hate.
3. We should be man enough or woman enough to disagree agreeably.
4. Love is patient, and kind, and listens.

...RE: Rights and the believer (taken from your question )
...You said this:
"Its your perogative to believe in God, but who are you to tell me and my family that my lack of faith is wrong, and try to prove it with some event from the past?
...Your silly beliefs are not my problem, and I will not stand to be attacked on an internet blog anymore."
**
...I am assuming you live in the US. We are free to believe the Gospel (my silly beliefs), ignore it, make up our own faith, follow another, just about anything one desires, as long as it does not hurt anyone or violate the law. We have incredible freedom here, and we are the envy of many other countries.
...Now, part of our Christian faith, commanded by Jesus Himself, is witness to others (i.e. to preach the Gospel all over the Earth) and seek to win them for Christ.
...It is my privilege to witness, because I want to love (obey) the Lord, and I really don't want others to be punished in Hell for an eternity. I would like for as many possible to miss Hell, and I hope the Lord can use me in this way.
...Let's face it, friend, if Jesus is right then all those without Him will be going to Hell, and this is no small thing – being away from the presence of God forever, weeping, gnashing of teeth, lake of fire.
**
…If God offered (and He does) you eternal life (a relationship with Him, the best type of life now, and to be able to spend of all eternity safely with Him), what's the reason you refuse this? Where is there a better deal on Earth?
...Please do not harden your heart any more; believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved. (Acts 16:31)
**
...2 Peter 3:9 says: The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
**
…Whosoever will, may come.

I am a proud christian and I will not judge you or any other religion I will respect you just as I would like to be respected. We all make choices in life and we have to live with the consequences. I will not force my beliefs down your throat. As a christian rule we are not aloud to judge. We can voice our opinions so can you. If any so called christian attacked your beliefs they are not christian at all. And for the christians who want to read it themselves see Acts 11L2-18, Mt 13:40-43 and Cor 1 4:5 the list continues.

It's the internet. The internet is the domain of jerks of all stripes. So when you hear from "Christians" on the internet, you're bound to hear from Christians who are jerks. The anonymity and irresponsibility of the medium make it easy to run with your inner jerk. I, as an atheist, do it all the time!

Don't get me wrong - I'm not all that fond of "Christians" (as such) in real life. (Sure, most of my friends are nominally Christian, but they don't take it seriously and are therefore capable of being decent people.) But I think you get a really warped view of human beings on forums like this.

To not be attacked then you may want to consider not going to the religious answers and questions.Any and everyone has there perogative to answer what they feel just like you do.So don't have an attitude just because people choose to respond to any or all questions

And just who are atheists to tell us we're wrong for sharing our faith or tell us our faith is wrong? Each worldview thinks it is the correct one and others in general are damaging and that they should convert. At least as Christians, we do it out of good concious and care about peoples souls and our mandate from God. Ive just never seen a caring atheist that loved Christians and wanted to help them out of it. Theyre simply interested in tearing down peoples faiths and in general dont care about the person even denying they have a soul or spirit to begin with.

As long as you degrade us by calling our beliefs silly as you just did, dont ask for sympathy. If a westborough baptist comes along and tells you youre going to hell and theyll be happy youre there, remember how callous your own statements are and youre NO better.

It goes both ways on here. Us Christians have to hear our ways talked about and made fun of on YA too. My answer to your ? is that we Christians aren't going anywhere no matter how much you wish we didn't speak our minds we will. If it bothers you that much then you may want to pick a different category to answer questions in. Just a suggestion... :) God bless!

your in the religion section, people talk and converse about religion here. you have a belief system and you have the right to voice it, if you take a look at religion and the answers we give it doesn't sound like peace with the Christan's either and if Christan's can't love one another where do you think you stand in the world of religious confusion.
