I've been thinking about reclassing from 19K (tanker) to 45B when I re-enlist, because I want to be a gunsmith if/when I ETS. I was wondering if there are any 45B's out there, or somebody who knows a lot about this field, the kind of training they receive, what they do on a day-to-day basis, and how much, if any schooling is required after enlistment to transition into a civilian career in the gunsmithing field. thanks!

45B (Small Arms Repairer): Works on weapon systems from 9mm to 105mm howitzer. The daily work load can vary, depending on the number of weapons that need repaired. The AIT for a 45B used to be 17 weeks, but I'm not sure what it is now. I know a lot of ex-45B's that get out and get good contractor jobs doing the same thing they did in the Army, but get paid a lot more.
