If they are undocumented, they have no tax ID. What are they doing to pay taxes and report to the IRS?

Kinda REALLY unfair, isn't it ?

My husband is a LEGAL alien, and HE had to ask permission from the Department of Immigration, in writing, for permission to work. No permission, no workee. We know others that just steal someone else's Social Security Card (the rightful owner of the card is still wondering why the IRS says they're making more money than they do,) and there are others who get paid "under the table" and their income doesn't show up anywhere, so obviously no taxes are being paid there. I don't count sales tax.

I will tell you how, first most illegal immigrants don't come by themselves they are mostly brought by Coyotes that are hired by the meatpacking and agricultural companies (do u think poor people have $2000 to $5000 NOT IN A LIFETIME AND I AM COUNTING ALL THEIR FAMILIES TOGETHER)want a good documentary watch "fast food nation:", now they are all given fake SS by these coyotes (its part of the service) the main reason is that the industries that brought them are covered by saying they didnt check and saying they didnt know THATS THE REAL BS. so yes they pay taxes to these fake numbers the ones that brought the MASSIVE AMOUNT OF ILLEGALS were the AMERICAN COMPANIES and they are the ones that now lobby to untangle the mess they created but people think that this people just crossed the border to sit in the corner of a Home depot NOT TRUE most illegals that come through the border are not that sofisticated.
Now there is the other batch that is not talked about the ones that come with Visas most of them can get a Tax Id Number and a drivers license , these people come with some money and work they can be your nice Chinesse Neighbor or the elegant Guy from Camerun or the awesome Soccer Instructor from Argentina, yes they all pay taxes.
So Ignorance its whats not allowing the government to solve the problem radio talk shows bulleted the law using fake numbers to misguide THIS IS THE TRUTH.
The new law should penalize greatly this companies the enforcement only Idea its not bad but the penalization should not be on the Immigrant but the employer, the idea was good to give a Z visa but hold it until all enfrocement was in place and make a Point system that allows the Argentinian soccer player and the Indian matematician to come legally the current law stinks and only provides for even more fraud such as fake marriages, this is very common in Miami where Cubans get a free ride and if they marry to a visa overstayer hey pass the benefit, Cubans are more used to Social Security services and they get a freebie on that THATS REALLY UNFAIR.
So dont buy that they burden the system and not pay taxes its all BS.

If they came on a visa and overstayed, they can use an ITIN (You must have had legal status at one point to obtain a TIN.) Of course, they can file a return and ultimately end up getting anything paid in taxes back in a return. Some illegal immigrants use false or stolen SS# and are on payroll. These illegal immigrants do have taxes taken out of their check.. but usually use every deduction and end up paying very little. At least not enough to cover their use of public services. A lot of illegal immigrants are paid under the table and contribute nothing. The amount of tax that illegal immigrants pay on income is so little that their use of services exceed what they pay in. If I remember correctly they cause well over a $10 billion deficit on a federal level every year.

Most illegals do NOT pay taxes and that is a fact. As others have mentioned, the some illegals use their Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) to pay taxes. Others have stolen SSN and forged papers. Because they make very low wages, even with the ITIN, they do not pay taxes.

The biggest controversy over the ITIN is that seven states allow registrants to use an individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN) in lieu of a Social Security number (SSN) when they register. The ITIN is available to noncitizens, including illegal aliens for purposes of tax withholding.

Unbelievable, isn't it?

The amount of taxes paid into SS would be the same whether an illegal has the job using a fake SS# or a legal citizens held that same job. They pay no more into the system than what would be paid in anyway.

Anyone who says illegals are paying taxes is giving you bs. Maybe some employers deduct taxes from their income, but, most are paid under the table, and most are below minimum wage. There is no way they are paying taxes. and certainly no way they are filing taxes by April 15 of every year. They are a major drain on our economy. And as for lower prices on produce and other products? It's a joke. What the employers save by hiring illegal, they don't pass on to consumers. They pocket it to make themselves more wealthy. I am not talking about farmers, but large companies like Tyson and others.

Oh people come on, I am against illegal immigration and want our borders closed to all but legal traffic but those of you who say they definitely don't pay taxes are either fooling yourself or you think if you say it enough it will be true?????

Many use an ITIN (given by our tax dollar paid program the Internal Revenue Service) and many unfortunately use Social Security Numbers that do not belong to them ALSO many do not pay taxes and are paid in cash, but to stick your head in the sand and say none pay taxes is just silly.

Close the borders to all but legal traffic and then take on the issue.......

"How do I know if I need an ITIN?
If you do not have an SSN and are not eligible to obtain an SSN, but you have a requirement to furnish a federal tax identification number or file a federal income tax return, you must apply for an ITIN. By law, an alien individual cannot have both an ITIN and an SSN.
IRS processes returns showing SSNs or ITINs in the blanks where tax forms request SSNs. IRS no longer accepts, and will not process, forms showing "SSA205c," "applied for," "NRA," blanks, etc"

As a former auditor, I often called people in because of a report of wages that were not on their returns. "Why didn't you report your wages from Taco Bell in El Paso" I would ask.
"I've never been to El Paso" they would respond. After they proved that, I would fill out a form to have the wages removed from their records (presumably social security justs keeps the money).

One time though a lady (called in because she claimed a child without a valid social security number) showed up with her lawyer and he told me that she wanted to report some additional cash income. I wrote up a report for the income and penalties and didn't understand why she was so happy to pay it. Her lawyer said that she had thought she was going to be deported.

Most illegals probably never report cash wages. The same is true for most prostitutes, gangsters, farm-stand operators, flea-market vendors, and baby-sitters though.

They don't, we will pay it for them. I am willing to bet in the future when said illegals became elderly we will be paying for their housing/healthcare/etc... There is already been legislation to remove their tax obligation if they become legal. I don't know if it has passed yet or not.
