Dunno, it's the same with Jesus, all the pictures show him as white but the bible says he was born in the middle east.

The only appearance of God on earth in a human body occurred in Palestine around 2000 years ago. His appearance as Jesus Christ was in a body that fit the time and place. All the rest of the appearances by God reveal his otherness and don't manifest a body. As for the second part of your question, you just haven't seen enough contemporary pictures. All of the classical pictures were painted by Europeans and in them God looks European. Other cultures have represented God in an ethnically consistent way for their time and place in the world.

I believe God has no color at all- the Bible says He is spirit, and no man can see Him. Jesus of course, was middle eastern, and was probably dark skinned. Most likely the reason our pictures portray God as white is because Christianity spread to Europe, where it began to express itself in art among the Europeans, who were white. Of course, as man will do, he tried to paint God in HIS image

God is a spirit.
I don't think that "in his own image" means that.
When you go to build a house and you don't have any plans or blueprints but you know what you want you could build it according to the image in your mind. A house is kind of a big project to do that way but you get the idea.

No God is a Spirtual-being, his not a human being. And that verse in the bible jus means that he created us with some of his qualities such as 'LOVE' it doesn't mention anything about physical appearance. And the oldest human remains where found in Africa not the Middle East.I haven't seen a picture of God but i have seen some of Jesus, he is mainly depicted as 'white' but he wasn't he was 'jewish'.

Pictures portray God as an old, white man because that is how Zeus was depicted and the image of God was stolen from the image of Zeus.

God has no physical body.
Secondly, the Bible never mentions that man is created in a physical image of God.

I don't think that God has a physical body, since he is a spirit.
That is not what "image" means in this context.

Even if he was Jewish, the pictures would still be wrong.
My favorite is Jesus the blond haired, blue eyed, white god-man.

I think anyone who tries to put color on God is mistaken. God doesn't have a color. He made us in His likeness, not a White man's or Black man's or Arab's likeness.
