Yeah, and whenever you point out the contridictions and really ridiculous parts, they say it's "not to be taken literally". Yaaaargh!

I'm not so sure, you know.
I mean, it can be true AND false all at once.
For example:
"This morning I woke up and I had a smoke. I watched Family Guy, then Drawn Together, and then I played guitar a little. I went into my little sisters room and got out her Ghost Corn Snake and played with it for awhile. My mum came home from shopping and had bought me a chicken and stuffing roll, which I ate. It was really nice. Today my mum and sisters are going to Essex to visit family; I hope they have a nice trip."
Okay, so this is a simple paragraph. Probably only a few Bible verses long. Lets break it down:
"This morning I woke up and I had a smoke."
Yeah, this is completely true, and exactly what I did. However, I didn't specify what I smoked, and this could be misleading. I actually woke up and got high, but for all the reader knows, I could have just been having a normal cigarette
"I watched Family Guy, then Drawn Together, and then I played guitar a little."
I did watch Family Guy and Drawn Together, but I don't state my opinions on either show. I also don't play guitar - I am learning, but by 'playing guitar' I do not mean, as the reader may expect, that I was playing some fantastic solo or anything - we're talking basic tabs
"I went into my little sisters room and got out her Ghost Corn Snake and played with it for awhile."
How long is awhile? What do you consider awhile to be? In this case, it was about 10 minutes, max, which I would consider to be 'awhile' - do you?
"My mum came home from shopping and had bought me a chicken and stuffing roll, which I ate. It was really nice."
Actually, it wasn't, but my mother was reading over my shoulder as I was typing. It actually had bacon in it too, but when I wrote that I forgot about the bacon.
"Today my mum and sisters are going to Essex to visit family; I hope they have a nice trip."
This is only applicable until they get back - it is a direct message about that particular trip, and it is not useful in any other context. It tells you that I have a mum and sisters, but not whether they are blood-born or adopted, or which relatives they are going to visit.

No, I don't think that the Bible is the ONE TRUE word of God. I think that the Bible has been translated, added to, removed from, and manipulated to hurt, kill, and demonize individuals and groups for a millenium. The Bible does, however, provide a great insight into the TRUTH that many people seek to validate their lives. However, virtually every religion claims it is the ONE TRUE way by using circular reasoning... (For example, saying the Bible is the one true word of God because the book itself makes such a claim...)
What is far more important, at least for me, is developing a personal relationship with God and discerning what God wants for me and for my life.
I do not adhere to the fundamental view of Christianity that mandates its believers to believe that the Bible is inerrant and that it should never be questioned. I don't believe that the Bible is the center of the faith. I think God is...

Hope you can you understand these
in the sense it's all true, but the stories are not literaly real, instead it represents the capability of the lifeforce within you, the only real truth that you can hold on to is the words which says "I tell you the truth" the rest is all figure of speech.
the stories visualizes our typical human perception about the lifeforce, in order to easily understood its capability or power, but only few people can connect the real truth from human perception, unless you learned to know yourself first-personal instict. its is hard to understand thus no one regular will ever believe.

Because it isn't and they know it otherwise they would follow all that the bible says. They just cherry pick the parts they want to use and ignore the rest. Good question though.

Why must it be heeded in all matters or in none ? Because you said so ? YOU MUST BE GOD !
Anything touched by the hand of man is not going to be 100% correct. This does not mean that all the good things about how we should treat each other should be discarded, just because there's some bad things in there.

it is hard to say the Bible was written by religous men over several hundred years, and from different countries they were based on stories passed down from generation to generation , but Jesus really did exist as his grave was found, its hard to tell if he was really the son of God, but he was indeed a holy man. I think the Bible was written as a guide to how to live our lives as Jesus did preech good things/morals, as to it's relevance in todays modern society, who knows? you will have to make your own mind up on that one.

Yes it is. Those who want to disregard parts do so at their peril. By such action they prove they are "Christian" in name only. They are called liars and apostates on their good days.
It is they who are referred to in 2Timothy 3:5 as having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power. Verse 16-17 goes on to say "All scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting matters straight...That the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."

Agreed. This is one of my main complaints about religion - they "chinese-menuify" it by picking and choosing what to believe. How can parts of it be wrong without casting doubt on the entire thing?

Why then did Bible lasted from the time of it's conception?
simply because God's word is from everlasting to everlasting. The Bible doesn't just offer us the set of "DO's" and "DONT's"
It points us to the reality of the existence of God and the truth of His love.
