Easily. Or at least I can.
If a guy cannot hold eye contact and looks away, he is shy.
If a guy has his hands in his pockets and keeps looking down, he is nervous.
If a guy doesnt like to talk about his past, he fears getting too close.
If a guy seems hesitant to react (i.e., smile, laugh, touch, talk, etc), then he is thinking too hard about what the girl thinks.
Then there are personality traits. If a guy badmouths something or someone, he has unfinished business somewhere in his past... and probably fears to get involved in something similar.
Blah blah... same thing for women, actually.

1. A good way to know is if they get angry to quickly about little things.
2. If they get jealous when you look, talk, or mention other guys
3. If they are controlling, want to know your every move every minute of the day and don't like you being with other friends or even family.
4. If they are bossy. They are trying to be your dad, boss, authority figure, or like a husband and you are single.
5. If they whin and pout when you want to do something different, or change up from what they are used to.
6. If they never seem to have money for what you want, or want to do, but they always seem to find it for what they want or want to do.
GET OUT OF THE RELATIONSHIP AS FAST AS YOU CAN IF THESE THINGS OCCUR. YOU CAN DO BETTER!!
ALL OF THIS IS ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR.

I think we are all able to gather and process information on a subconscious level. Except for very good actor types, it is hard not to "communicate" who and what we are. Some are better "listeners" than others in that they process that information, again on a subconscious level,i.e. they listen to their "sense" of things. The only solution to this is learn to be self confident and secure. The only way to do that is to basically get in touch with yourself and learn to be happy with who and what you are. In part, this means facing those fears, understanding them, and accepting them as part of ones self.

Hmmm to me, if a guy is constantly being angry at angy guy his girlfriend looks at, that's insecurity. Or if he gets jealous in a snap, or he's constantly following her around or telling her what to do and who she can see.

Because women have better social awareness than men. Your body language, how you approach them and what you say are all pointers of what levelof confidence you are on.
