On an ontological level, I disagree. But I think a lot of times how we view "God" is a man-made construct. I guess it has to be. But then we run into all sorts of difficulties trying to define a deity with restrictive thought and language.

I think it is perhaps a human need to believe in a supreme being. His existence answers many questions for which there are no answers. Like eternal life and my soul.
I was a Christian for most of my life, or so I thought. I was always open minded and never a fundie, obviously. I always believed, and still do, that the man, Jesus, is the son of God as we are all children of God.
After a few years of hell I attended an Assembly of God church with a friend. I did it for her because she was good to me during those years. I knew I would disagree with 99% of what I heard there before I walked in the door but I thought I could ignore the bull$hit and just worship God. I did for a while too.
Eventually the bigotry and ignorance was too much for me and I walked out in the middle of service one sunday and I have never been back. The experience left me running away from God. I tried denying His existence. I wanted to be an atheist so very bad. I could never go over that fence though. God would not let me go.
I was able to reconcile my beliefs after I accepted that I do think there is a God and it is religion that bothers me. There is no one word that describes how I feel. I am deist, gnostic, and spiritualist. And just me.

How can man devise such a thing as a spirtual world with
no frame of reference to begin with - and if the physical
world has only been apparent?
I am not talking about a human-like god.
Spiritual concepts are higher level of thinking!
I believe in the opposite of evolution.
We are less "evolved"!
Information is lost, are only progress is with technology
and exploration.
We are definietly less intelligent!
Evolution is a hoax, an excuse to not believe in God,
a philosophy.
Man has always been very arrogant!

It should be "man is a concept of God" since God created man in His own image.

He maybe a concept to you- but to me.. God is real- He has taken care of me in many circumstances-
I even had an instance where I saw His power work a miracle- that saved my life- So like I said- you might think God is a "concept" ............ But the Almighty God is very real!

My opinion is that statement was made by someone who had not yet opened their heart to the possibilities that some of us have now found as truth.
Faith in Christ Jesus and God the father
ministered to the soul by Holy spirit.

I agree that is is how we mere mortal try to define the devine in the universe. We are trying to put meaning into what we cannot completely understand in our mortal minds and therefore call God.
Good Luck!!!

Agree. God is the outcome of a necessity to explain the unexplainable.

The belief in him has the same thought patterns for those who claim there is no god.
