Why is it always "I don't understand it, it must be ghosts, god(s), paranormal activity, ESP, previous lives"?

Shouldn't we first exhaust all the possible natural explanations before moving on to supernatural territory?

Actually there are a lot of people who do try and find an explanation to what ever unexplainable event took place. If they can not find A true reason for it's occurrence then they tend to point there thoughts to the unexplainable causes like ghost, psychic experiences, etc. And the people that study the paranormal always look for a logical explanation to every event that takes place or was claimed to have taken place.

When things happen my mind always goes straight to the supernatural. I guess it's just how I'm wired. But then I sit and think it through and reason myself out of it. Overall I don't believe in things like ghosts, paranormal activities, demons, etc. but my mind always jumps there first. I think it may be all the books I read and horror movies I watch. Seriously. My imagination loves messing with me.

Supernatural is an awesome TV show.
That said, reality is life.
Like when someone is given good care at work and we have worked hard as a human can and the family thanks God.
I'm nurse, human and science involvment was there too.
What I do may be considered by some to be God's work, hear that alot, but science plays a large part.

Because it's fun. However, I do agree that if something odd is happening or has happened, every avenue should be looked into. (I majored in parapsychology and always look into every aspect of the whatever, be it a haunted house, unexplained lights on a photo, etc. I enjoy researching the unexplained.) I hope I was clear; I'm tired right now and about to go to sleep.

Because sometimes after science and logic has been exhasted there are still things out there that are not yet explained. I think science will eventually catch up and those 'unexplained, supernatural' things will be explained. Until then speculation can often lead to a way for science to catch up that much quicker.

Yes there is sometimes a method to the madness.

I agree 100%. In the lab at the ag research center we developed a grain of corn with the exact same prperities as one we had gotten off a stalk of corn we had grown in our test plot.We planted both and guess what only one of them sprouted,we are currently testing soy beans because they will germinate faster than corn.If this simple experiment dont work then i think someting supernatural is going on, wouldn't you?

I think it's hard for them to accept the truth. After all, the truth can be pretty harsh. So to blame all of the problems of the world on something unseen is easier. It's always harder to face reality dead on.

I think it's more comforting for them to think a person got killed because of some higher order plan, rather than believe there is a loon on the loose who kills at random with no apparent purpose.

Many of us think of Scripture as the dictated Word of God, This is assuredly is not. The Bible is. rather, the humanly written, but divinely inspired, record of God's relationship with men. It is the story of salvation, of love. The Bible begins with the first and tremendous outpouring of God's love, the creation of the world and of man, and it leads us through the drama of His relationship with man: man's alienation from God, and the record of God's marvelous deeds to bring about a reconciliation. To sum up my point, Divinely inspired? I think that could be a supernatural thing? or not, your call on that one.

Of course we should. But weak minds love absolutes. It you cannot see taste hear or handle the concept then a supernatural explanation offers an unproven absolute that is amenable to tailoring.

Because they want the answers to be supernatural.

You could have included aliens in that list as well, even though technically an alien would not be supernatural. But when people see UNIDENTIFIED flying objects, their first instinct is to conclude they must be aliens.
