Butt phucking little boys and hiding the evidence. Maybe they should clear up that mistake before they get back to telling everyone else how to behave.

Sounds like you have identified a common problem and one that sadly is rife in America!
There is a huge difference between God's word and the opinions of people. Particularly very religious people.
I suspect that your church has a good few zealots, born again and probably fire and brimstone. These people leave Christianity behind and are in fact ideologues.
Your relationship with God is for you to decide aided by the Bible. How you worship and what you believe is up to you to decide. Sadly it is becoming more and more common to find the good Christians outside the churches!
Just remember that good Christians believe in a loving, inclusive and forgiving God and ignore those who preach anything different.
There are other churches so try visiting a few and see what they are like.

Indeed. What the Spirit saith "unto the churches" x 7 in Revelation is notably written in Galatians: the only book specifically written "unto the churches".
Eg: if you're justified by the law, then you're fallen from grace to law, and if you're fallen to highmindead law then Christ(is the end of the law) is of NO EFFECT unto you: Gal 5:4.
As for "believe", it is not the higher biblical objective, which is to "know": John 8:32. Know the truth makes you free of believe their lies. Devils believe: James 2:19. So if you believe, you do as well as devils do, who also fear & tremble at the God on high they believe. The higher exhortation is believe not: Matthew 24: 23, 26; 1John 4:1.
As for churches and their legalism, the higher exhortation is to "come out from among them" and "from such turn away". Them = male & female Adam(Gen 5). In Adam all die(1Cor 15). Not to mention "highminded" among "unholy": 2Tim 3.
There's a difference between
- new and dead way
- new and living way;
difference being dead or alive.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Good for you!
All churches have the human element that can make mistakes. Don't trust ANY church that tells you they are never wrong.
You're right: too many churches try to scare you into believing, or at least into putting money into the collection plate. Too many churches try to force you to think their way with threats of hell and damnation and pitchforks in your butt.
That never works. God is love, not fear.
Pray, read, think, and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you when you feel "force fed" from a church. Then listen to the Holy Spirit in your heart no matter what Brother Bubba down at the babtiss church tells you.

The church is there to tell you that you are a screw up and need to pray more and give them money so that God will be happy that their greedy child molesting priests will have a nice place to stay protected in. But you go anyway because if you don't God will hate you and not let you into heaven.

The church is run by man and not by God. There is a problem with that. No one can force you to believe or to dis-believe. God gave us free will. I agree the church is making mistakes. The church has always made mistakes and always will. It is up to us to realize those mistakes and not make them ourselves.

Of course!
Repetition is a key element to learning something and/or being brainwashed into believing something.
You ever notice how they repeat the same prayers over and over? They are programming you to believe what they believe so you will be one of their sheep.
They use these repetitious prayers even though their own bible says not to...... Why do they do it?? To get it into the simple minds of your garden-variety church goers. To program their minds to believe in the garbage they are spewing.
here is what their bible says about repetitious prayer:
Matthew:
6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

They don't force you but they do a good job of indoctrination on the kids. Of course you are free to not attend or find a church more to your liking. I've found that even in the same denomination the churches can vary quite allot.

No one can force you to believe, but all religions practice some forms of brainwashing. I personally did the opposite of most people, I figured out what I believed and then looked for a religion that consisted of my beliefs.
