In order to be saved you must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and that he died for your sins and was raised three days later.
Being baptized has nothing to do with being saved. However, it is a profession of faith and should be undertaken when possible.
Repenting of your sins also has nothing to do with being saved. Although repenting is the next logical step in the process.

Born in 1957
Christened in 1957
Became a dedicated atheist as soon as I was told that Father Christmas was fantasy.
Came to know Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord in 1977
Baptised on Jan 31 (my 21st birthday) 1978
Have been growing steadily in the Christian faith ever since
Having read through many of the answers to your question I think we have much praying to do for others who do not know Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord. After all if He can save me He can save anybody.
Praise the Lord!!

I was Christened at 3 weeks old so was not given a choice but my parents and Godparents made the choice for me out of love to protect me. I chose not to be confirmed as my personal belief is that I don't need to attend Church every Sunday to know God and Jesus, they are always in my heart and know I love them so why should I make a public declaration and have a party for saying so. The only declaration I have made was at my Godson's Christening when I repented and promised to do my best to guide my Godson through life along with his other Godparents (he has 4 in total).
So yes I know the Lord Jesus Christ as my savour but I cant remember being Christened / Baptised on account of my age.

Saved? Saved from what the human form or from hell? Is there a difference? I am baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and I pray all the time but it is not about being baptized that will save you. It is the belief in Good and living by it. God doesn't care if you know his name and bow down to his statue. He wants you to live right and die right.
AMEN

April,
You are correct EXCEPT that we are told to be Baptized in the name of the FATHER and of the SON and of the HOLY SPIRIT. I have been so baptized. Have a wonderful week.
Thank you,
Eds

JKM seems to know something about the Greek that most of the translators do not. HOW did he know? Where is his "knowledge" from? I have not found any information that JKM is right. Only that he does not want to read, study, and obey what GOD'S Inspired WORD tells us. ALL OF IT!
Thanks again,

Yes I have accepted Jesus and been baptised in the Holy Spirit. The Lord made a difference in my life, wish he would keep doing it, and didn't feel so remote.

I was saved in 1991..became 'born again' and in 1992 I was baptised by choice by total immersion, which is Biblical. I was then filled with the Holy Spirit and still am....I know God, through Jesus, by the Holy Spirit and He really has made a difference in my life...take a look at my website, if and when you have time. http://groups.msn.com/allforourlordjesus
Best wishes, Mike.

Really...? What happened to all those people before he came then... does that mean that guy that is growing up in the jungle living the best life he can ever knowledge himself to live and his family so he's going to hellfire then I suppose... Did Jesus ever talk about him actually going down there and removing anyone... or did he defer this job to someone else?
