I am planning for a downtown city tour in New york. I am new to the city. I have to stay somewhere near 777,8th avenue, 47th street from where the trip starts. Please suggest me some reasonable hotel names nearby (with prices around 100-150$ per night) to stay.

I have stayed at Park Central fpr $160 per night and the address is 870 7th street @56th and its few small bocks away from your destination. Anything else is usually more expensive unless you find a motel with shared bathroom.

Listen carefully, Midtown and Downtown Manhattan, where all tourists flock to and want hotels are never cheap! There are no cheap hotels in manhattan in touristy places, you must scour out of the way neighborhoods or in the outer boroughs.

Its not that hard to understand, Manhattan = expensive

Provided you can find a cardboard box you could sleep under the 47th street bridge for free!!! It might be difficult finding a shopping cart though; I have heard they are in low supply.

In that price range you arent going to find much. If you dont mind sharing a bathroom and staying a little further uptown you may have better luck.
