It is advisable that you have her checked by a vet, as cats don't generally pant. Schedule an appointment...just to be on the safe side.

Take her to the vet as soon as possible and cut down on the playing until you find out what is going on. My kitten was doing the same thing after playing, laying down panting with her tongue hanging out. Turns out she has 3 heart defects. The vet first detected a heart murmur and then I had to take her to an animal hospital to have an echo-cardigram done.
I hope this isn't the case with your kitten but you need to make sure. My cat has to take 4 different medications a day and is on a prescription diet to control the amount of fluid buildup in her lungs. She is a little over a year now and thankfully she is a healthy size and still loves to play. I hope everything works out for your kitten!
Oh, and if something is seriously wrong I know from experience how quickly vet bills can move into the thousands. There is a credit card called Care Credit that you can use at participating vet offices. I will post the link below.

Yes! My cat does this too!
She just turned a year and pants after a few minutes of playing. However, like some of the responses, I think she is just getting excited too quickly. She will stop to pant, but then start playing immediately after and the panting will stop.
I'm not that concerned because there are other times when she she'll be wrestling with our other cat, but not panting at all.
However, she has a vet appointment soon so I'll bring it up with the vet then, and I suggest you do the same, but for the moment, I'm not that worried :)

Panting is another way for the kitten to cool down so she could be hot and maybe a bit dehydrated, make sure there is fresh water down for her at all times.
If you're worried that it could be something more serious, then you need to take her to the vets for a check up. They should be able to put your mind at ease.
Hope that helps and Good Luck.

I would suspect a heart or lung issue. Open mouth breathing in a cat is never normal. She should be seen immediately.

kittens do get tired if they pay alot, or sometimes they just get dizzy eg if they are chasing somehting round and round. However i think breathlessness can also be caused by more serious things like a heart murmour, so it may be best to get your kitten checked out by a vet. I think its quite hard to spot a heart murmour im kittens as they are so small and wriggle about alot.
Hope everything works out for you.

Sometimes kitties pant when they get excited, so she might just be having an awesome time. If you're concerned, and if she seems to be in distress, take her to the clinic because she might have a problem with her heart or lungs.

Yes, take her to the vet. Cats have a lot of respiratory issues that could be very serious.
