socially acceptable? all of them, under the right circumstances.

there's...

not loving God.
not honoring your parents.
not loving your neighbor as yourself.
fornication and adultery (lusting after a person you're not married to counts).
murder (hatred of another human being is considered murder).
covetousness (envy).
stealing (no matter how big or small the object is).
lying (little white lies are still lies).
pride (exalting yourself above another person).

the list goes on and on. there are 615 commandments in the bible. to go against any one of them is a sin, yet they are all acceptable, and in many cases glamorized, by society's standards.

All of them.

Some sins are sins of the flesh and include violation of the levitical food laws, greed, pride, gluttony ... some of my favorite past times.

Other sins are sins against people and it is up to the sinner to request and the person offended to give forgiveness.

The truly spiritual sins, however --although committed by people, who are part and parcel the constituents of 'social' -- obtain ultimate forgiveness of them from a place we have yet to attain.

The Book of Life is beyond the constraints of social acceptability.

The worldly life of physical bodies may approve or disapprove of our behaviors when we manifest them towards others; but no person will stand before the white throne and condemn you for your works here on Earth.

Pretty much anything that mainstream religion calls sin, can be rationalized in our society to be understood and forgiven. Lying, bribery, cheating, fornicating, thievery, drug use, etc... In our society we're inclined to be far more forgiving than the maintream religion seems to think we should be.

Wearing clothes with more than one type of fabric (e.g. 50% cotton, 50% polyester), wearing silk, shaking hands with a woman who is on her period, allowing women to speak during assemblies, not keeping slaves for the sabbath, eating pork, eating shellfish, eating animals not specified in the bible, not marrying your sister-in-law if your brother dies and you are unmarried, not killing your family if they mention religions other than the Jewish religion, not carrying a shovel during wartime, making your own ethical decisions and following your moral compass, suffering from genital injury, not putting male prisoners of war to death upon capture, getting tattoos, watching people perform card tricks or sleight-of-hand, charging a Jewish person interest on a loan, eating cheeseburgers

Divorce, pre-marital sex, homosexuality, not controlling your kids, abortion, hating your parents, coveting your neighbor's goods, failing to keep holy the sabbath day, judging people, the list goes on.

The first ones that come to mind are drinking and gambling. People seem to think that it's o.k. unless you go overboard. I don't get it. The same doesn't apply to stealing, adultry, etc.

In religion? Child molesting I guess. They even have insurance for it, like that covers it over.

Pretty much ALL of them these days...even cheating on your spouse has become somewhat understood. Heck our president even did it (Bill Clinton).
