Once the drink returns to a normal temperature(meaning all "ice" has disappeared from the drink and you can drink without pain) it is fine. I have personally seen dry ice put into warm liquids and it does NOT explode. It just bubbles and produces fog that is harmless in small quantities. If you are in a reasonably sized and well-ventilated room you will not suffocate unless you are using ALOT of dry ice. You might get some CO2 bubbles in your drink but those aren’t any different than bubbles found in soda.

Safety Instructions

Do not taste, eat or swallow! Dry ice is very cold and can damage your body.
Wear heavy, insulated gloves. Since dry ice is cold, it can damage even your skin, giving you frostbite.
Do not store in sealed container. Because dry ice constantly sublimates into carbon dioxide gas, storing it in a sealed container will cause pressure to build up. If it builds up enough, the container could explode.
Use only in ventilated space. In a poorly ventilated area, the build up of carbon dioxide could create a suffocation hazard. This is of great danger when transporting the dry ice in a vehicle.
Carbon dioxide is heavier than air. It will sink to the floor. Keep this in mind when thinking about how to make the space well ventilated.

Dry ice isn't produced from foodstuff grade CO2 initially. properly... on 2nd theory i'm undecided with regard to the stuff which you purchase in shops. examine the label. besides i would not do this. The chew of dry ice will elect the flow around and variety a layer of liquid ice surrounding it. in case you get a style of on your mouth you would be sorry you probably did. be careful and please do no longer swallow any!!! you may probable carbonate something with a chew of dry ice in spite of the fact that i'm undecided how helpful which would be except you seal the field and shake till the dry ice is lengthy previous. word: in case you do this the field WILL EXPLODE except you're employing a tiny quantity and it would not boost adequate stress. i assume my answer is that in case you desire to attempt this on your very own enjoyment pass forward yet i would not do it for say drinks at a celebration the place individuals must be stupid adequate to consume the dry ice.

Dry ice can suffocate with the CO2 fumes, but worse, dry ice can fuse the esophagus together, cause severe frostbite. To put dry ice in warm liquid can cause explosions.

of course! Dry ice is a very risky material to even touch knowing that you can get freezer burn from it. I mean how can you put it in something you drink when it's dangerous to even touch it with your bare hands.

You can put it in a punch bowl or something, just make sure you use food-grade dry ice.
But, no, you can't eat it, so keep it in large chunks in your bowl so you don't accidentally serve it.
