He did sound like a schoolmaster talking to kids. I thought most flood victims were adults. I detected a threat in his voice if that is what you mean, most people are OK and he should have made it clear he was talking to the badly behaved fringe.
I also thought his tone was offencive. he appeared to be ordering people about , he has no right to do this. Remember Rudolph Julianni on 9/11? that is the way to talk in an emergency to innocent members of the public

I don't think its patronising....but I am finding the puke making tv reporters stood in their wellies and raincoats spouting their drivel rather sickening and patronising.
Next week they'll have forgotten all about the floods, as something more entertaining like a celeb birth story or some juicy MP love tryst breaks news!!!

Yes, because some flood victims are getting their homes raided by *bad neighbours*.

Dear god that's heinous. Someone should complain on him for giving out good advice. He has to be stopped. He's obviously a rogue officer on a self serving quest to get people to band together and look after one another following a disaster.

At times of high stress they just may indeed need someone to remind them they are all affected. I do not think he meant to show patronization but rather solace.
