This depends on which 'expert' you ask...
...there are thousands of them on TV, in the newspapers, etc., who proclaim their own pet theory to whoever will publish or broadcast it.
The sea level will rise (we are told) the ice caps will melt (caused by the melting) weather will be affected, thousands living near the coasts will lose their homes (or even their countries) and so on...you must have heard, seen or read the warnings?
Or...the build-up of CO2 will create a denseness of the upper atmosphere that will block out sunlight and create a very cold earth (remember the ice ages?) In fact just this week we are told that the low temperature of the pacific coastal waters off South America is causing the severe weather that is affecting our planet.
So is it global warming, or global cooling we should fear? One thing to remember is the earth has has 'ice ages' every ten thousand years or so, then the earth heats up again and we begin the same cycle all over again.
It seems likely that, whatever happens, millions of habitants of the earth will die...either from lack of room to live, lack of food and so on. The same fate will affect animals, too.
Some will survive, as they have in the past, as will some human beings...they will restart the whole process over again...with retained knowledge of what we did to the planet and with good intentions with regard to 'living in harmony and balance with nature'
(remember the passed down stories of the American Indian nations, the Aboriginals of the southern hemisphere and survivor 'legends' from all over the word?)
Somehow, though, I doubt this idealised lifestyle will ever succeed.
It won't happen quickly, though, so you don't need to worry you'll wake up dead tomorrow.
Cheers,

Bobspain: If you don't have a clue what you are talking about you should learn firs.
The fundmentals is that the temperature zones trvel towards the poles. This can result in such events such as the drought in Ethiopia. (This as caused because the annual rains moved elsewhere).
More energy will mean increased severity in storms. They get their energy from the temperature.
Increased evaporation, with more water in the atmosphere and a more rapid refill of that water, will lead to floodings.
The sea levels will rise as landbased ice melts and the temperature causes the water to expand. The increased precipitatin will lead to crop failures and an increased need for water.

Britain and other countries will start to dry out. There will be lots of hurricanes, tornado's,monsoons and droughts. There might also be a lot of climate change. The penguins that live on ice will have no land to deliver baby penguins. Then penguins will be extinct!Humans might not even exist anymore if the land disasters happen! It is just like as if you where eating a rich creamy thick praline from Thornton's Chocolate box when you praline drops the whole world's chocolate shops drop too!

It would be like the age of dinosaurs, when natural global warming resulted in no polar ice at all, sea level about 300 feet higher, and tropical vegetation in Canada.

Bigger storms, more floods, strange weather. I'm hoping to open a shoreline restaurant in the central Midwest.

the worst thing that could happen is increase rate of people dying because of drought, more floods, or climate change.
