In a very short time you have proved that you either dont like the breed or no nothing about the breed. For those who dont understand the question, i was asking if you have a chihuahua, how many do you have. Question was asked in relation to a questionnaire i have!

I agree with you 100%, that Chihuahuas get a bad wrap, by people that don't have the slightest clue, about what they are really like. I have bred Chihuahuas for a long time and I have # 10 little cuties, of my own. I have #4 Males named Bandit, Casper, Lalo, and Zeus and I have #6 Females named Angel, Lucy, Gigi, Bear, Ruby and Bambi. I can't even begin to imagine, what my life, would be like if they weren't around. They are the best little companions. They keep me busy, but I love every minute of it. They are very intelligent, fiercly loyal, sweet tempered, gentle, very loving, funny, curious, they have their own unique little personalities, they are alert, graceful, energetic, and won't let size stand in their way to protect their owners and their property. They say Chihuahuas aren't good with kids and in my experience, I don't believe that to be true either. A perfect example, would be the little baby on the news, that was about to be struck by a snake and the Chihuahua, put himself in front of the baby and took the strike himself. The only reason, they say Chihuahuas aren't good with small children is because, little kids tend to be really rough and Chihuahuas can be hurt very easily, because they are so fragile, not because they are nippy, which couldn't be further from the truth. If a small child is taught, how to properly handle and be around a Chihuahua, then there should not be a problem. Any breed no matter what it is, is going to snap, if treated roughly or is being hurt in any way. It's a normal reaction. My babies are around small children all the time and not once have I ever seen, any snapping or aggression of any kind whatsoever. ''To Know Me Is To Love Me", Chihuahuas Motto, if they could talk. Chihuahuas Are Little Dogs With Big Hearts! Sorry I'm carrying on, but I just had to vent a little.

I have 2 1/2 Chihuahuas and 1 1/2 Toy Poodles.
My oldest is Brigid she is a Chihuahua / Toy Poodle mix, I rescued her at 1 year old. (Her "Mom" married an idiot abuser and she chose the guy who kicked the sweet 6 pound little girl down a hallway into a wall)
My second oldest is Pepper he is a Toy Poodle I rescued him at 4 years old. (One owner passed away the other went into a nursing home.)
My third oldest is a short hair Chihuahua I just rescued him Thursday, he is 10 months old and his owners passed away as well.
My youngest is a long haired Chihuahua 7 months old and I got her from my husband as a Valentine's Day present.

My ex husband and his daughter still have our 9 year old Pomeranian and our 7 year old long haired Chihuahua along with a new addition I have no idea what kind (he doesn't either as he rescued him).

I love small dogs, Chihuahuas and Toy Poodles in particular, neither are a particularly barky or aggressive breed if they are trained right. The problem usually lies with the owners who see them as too cute to discipline, or to little for their behaviors to really matter.. when in fact they should be made to follow the same "rules" as other bigger breeds.

hi i have a chihuahua puppy - he's 4 months old, long haired and an absolute joy, he loves everyone he meets and just wants fuss he is also a complete lapdog and is cutched up on my bed right now. I had wanted one for ages, as my nan has one but my dad and brother wern't keen and thought they wern't proper dogs, now though they think hes wicked he's just so funny to watch. I also have a 6 month old staff cross and they love each other even if they do cause chaos.

I would say a chihuahua is a perfect pet for a large group of people becuse they are small they can be content in many environments and are easy to exercise and very loving. I think people who are negative about them have never really spent time with them and base thier opinions on silly celebs.

I'm hoping to get a little girl in a few months to.

o and just read about dressing them up - its not always for fashion chihuahua's are sensitive to cold so it cn be advisable to put a jumper on them on chilly days

well, i agree, you are not a paris hilton wannabee.

chihuahua's are not toys. they are living animals and need all the same care as a mastiff does.

they are not nasty snappy little dogs, any pet will be nasty and snappy if they are not well cared for or not trained! in fact, i have seen millions on chihuahuas at dog shows which are very calm, relaxed and let me stroke them without trying to snap my finger off! every-one says that they are bad-tempered but i think they are not. they are also ideal for people with very limited room in their home.

in other words, forget what other people say, you love your chihuahuas and regard them as cute, little dogs. people leave so many negetiive remarks on chihuahuas don't they?

hi, yes i agree with you completely, i have 3 chihuahuas and 3 pomeranians, they are a lovely breed of dog, not snappy, very loving and kind, big hearted. It is a shame that poeple see them as a fashion item, they should'nt, you dont see many large breed of dogs dressed up! I would never do that to mine.

it's like dobies it is how they are raised I imagine if they are mean or not, but I do think that little dogs are easier to have snap at you simply because they get at your heels easier

and maybe accidentally get kicked or something

then if you have ever been bitten by one you do know how it hurts

I got bit by some little dogs as a child and have never stopped being scared of them
