I made a chicken casserole last night and covered it in foil. I forgot to stick it in the fridge and found it on the counter this morning. Is it ok to keep?

No. It's not at all safe. Anything like poultry, creams, eggs, mayonnaise based products, etc, should never be left out more than 2 hours. Bacteria grows very quickly. Chicken is one of the worst culprits when it comes to getting food poisoning. Throw it out.

If it was out at between 40 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit for more than two hours dump it! Food poisoning is a bummer.

The food safety people will kill me for saying this but although
2 hours is the maximum recommended time for food to be left out of the refrigerator, it's not always pratical and I doubt it really ever happens.
(Unlikely the pie I had from starbucks for lunch had been out of the oven less then 2hours, they don't even have a kitchen....)

I think over-night is fine, if;
it was fully cooled down on the kitchen counter (not left in a warm oven or next to a hot stove),
you cooked the casserole through (<350F for <20-35mins, depending on size),
you added milk or cheese to it, it hasn't gone sour,
used clean utensils when serving (you didn't eat straight out of the serving dish?),
reheat through to <350F for <20-35mins before reserving)

Of course, rule of thumb...
When in doubt, throw it out.

Did you have your AC on last night? It was covered i would think its okay. It would really stink to chuck a chicken casserole! Take a small sample, and i hope you got it in the fridge when you found it. If it was hot in your house chuck it.

Might make a difference depending on the ingredients; but I'd be safe and toss it. Food poisoning just screws up a day.

You can keep out side for a maximum of 8 to 9 hrs. If thats more than this time, better waste it.

If it contains ingredients in the dish such as egg, butter, milk, cheese you will want to throw it out because bacteria can grow overnight.

I wouldn't eat it. It was in the bacteria "danger zone" for far too long, and I wouldn't risk the food poisoning possible.
