I am a bit confused. Recently there have been many questions by "Muslims" saying that we do not need to follow the Sunnah and Hadiths, I want to know how do these Muslims know Islam and all that Islam entales. Like Prayer, Zakat, Al-Dajjal, hajj to name a few things. These things we have been taught by Prophet Mohammed(pbuh)..
How do Muslims that do not follow the Sunnah pray?

Is it ok to say you know how to pray and pick things you want out of the sunnah to do?

Islam is not complete without the Prophet's (SAW) sunnah and hadith. However, one must be careful when regarding which hadiths are sahih/genuine, and which ones are weak...

Generally, Sahih Bukahri and Sahih Muslim hadiths are considered genuine hadiths.

I feel it is a great problem today that people claim they are spiritual not religious. What does this men. I see people picking and choosing what aspects of religion they like and ignoring those they don't. Muslims that drink, that do not pray as they know they should, but want to claim they are Muslim. One cannot have their cake and eat it too but that is what people have found a way to do. When you choose a path you must follow it. There are tremendous benefits to faith but there are rules to be followed. I myself have questions about the Hadith and the possibility of manipulation but to call yourself Muslim you must follow the rules of Islam. Allah burdens not a man beyond his scope (64:16)

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim

Salaam Alaikum wa Rahmatullah

There will always be these gadflys who wish to do away with the Sunnah. They have existed throughout the history of Islam in some form or another. They are known as "Qur'aniyeen" or "Submittors" or some other title. They say that the Qur'an is enough for them and they don't need the Sunnah at all.

My advice to you is to not talk to such people, not to correspond with them, and not to visit their deviant websites. By abandoning the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, they put themselves outside of the fold of Islam. They are to be warned against in the strongest fashion. There are many honest people online who seek information about Islam and they can be sent astray by reading from one of their deviant websites.

It is easy to unmask these people so inshAllah you can avoid them. Please don't give them any more attention than you would a buzzing gnat, and be firm in your observance of Islam according to the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah.

Fi Aman Allah,

Nancy Umm Abdel Hamid

These are Muslims who are a bit too westernized. They are mad that someone forbids them to do something which is haram. They want to be told that whatever sin they are committing is OK. Well too bad because it's not happening. What's haram.. is haram. WE HAVE TO FOLLOW THE SUNNA. Long explanation... short.. La illa ha ill Allah. MUHAMMADur rasool Allah. If Allah has jointed the Prophets name with him, and our being a Muslim is invalid if we do not believe in the Prophet and his teachings.. Then why wouldn't we follow the Sunnnah? Why would we have Sunnah prayers?

These "Muslims" will be judged by Allah and for that I wish them good luck.

There is no such thing as "Muslims who don't follow the sunnah". If they don't follow the sunnah, they disbelieve in Al-Qur'an and are thus kuffaar.

How simpler should I put it?

I'll copy to you the answer I gave to her:

"""Quran and Sunna of the Prophet عليه الصلاة و السلام are both legislation. Quran is the Highest rank of legislation, then comes the sunna...

Quran didn't mention the number of Rakaats in any prayer..
Quran didn't mention the 2.5% of the alms..
Quran didn't mention the rights of neighbour.
Quran didn't provide for the military plans of the wars during the prophet era.

"And when it is said unto them: Come! The messenger of Allah will ask forgiveness for you! they avert their faces and thou seest them turning away, disdainful." 63:5

Allah wanted to give his beloved prophet a role in the Islamic legislation, how could we deny him this right?

Allah gave Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم The power to legislate:

And obey Allah and the messenger, that ye may find mercy." 3:132

"
O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the messenger and those of you who are in authority; and if ye have a dispute concerning any matter, refer it to Allah and the messenger if ye are (in truth) believers in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and more seemly in the end." 4:59.

This last verse means that The Prophet had the right to legislate, and we have the obligation to obey, It gave him the right of Arbitration and jurisdiction.

Allah is the Best lawmaker and he legislated the law saying:

"O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the messenger and those of you who are in authority".

Quran also gave authority to our leaders. Imagine that a leader of an army during the war says: "you will spy on them" and soldier says: "Espoinage is forbidden in the Quran and I wont do it".. Every one will have his own intyerpretation of the Quran.. everyone will do what he likes... CHAOS....

That's why Allah legislated that and gave such powers to Muhammad صلى الله عليه و السلام as Islam was never a religion of chaos.. It's the religion of flexibility.

Flexibility, open-mindedness, balance.

"Verily in the messenger of Allah ye have a good example for him who looketh unto Allah and the Last Day, and remembereth Allah much." Al Ahzab....

Are we better than Allah to reject the teachings of the man who Allah himself said he's our good example?

And why most women, tend to refuse the teachings of Muhammad صلى الله عليه و السلام and stick only to the Quran, and when you debate any of them she says: "The prophet was kind to women, He said women are angels, Heavens is under the feet of mothers".

I was wondering why?!

Edit:

""God cites the Example of a man who deals with disputing partners , compared to a man who deals with only one consistent source . Are they the same ? Praise be to God; most of them do not know. (39:29" is not for Hadith, It's for the Monotheism compared to paganism or worshipping of Idols. If the Sunna of the prophet was really uninmportant, God would have erased it, as he said:

"thus Allah coineth (the similitude of) the true and the false. Then, as for the foam, it passeth away as scum upon the banks, while, as for that which is of use to mankind, it remaineth in the earth. Thus Allah coineth the similitudes." 13:17. """

Muslims who don't follow the reliable sunna that don't contradict the Quran are not Muslims.

Edit:
Yoda Green, is that soft, chappy, skinny thing; your head really, or something else??
