When I was 19 I got a minor consumption ticket on a college campus by campus cops. I am just wondering how long it will stay on my record, and if there was any way I could get it taken off my record. The state is IL if it matters. I also paid it on time.

It was also a city ordinance violation if that makes any difference.

I also just read about expungement in Wisconsin that says you can get minor offenses taken off your record after 5 years, but I still am wondering about IL.

Its still on the record. It will show on FBI records for Fed jobs and Security clearances, it will show when any cop runs you out.

Expunging is only valuable for non government job apps. Anything gov't and they will have it.
