How did you feel when you were 4....you wanted to do certain things yourself without being checked all time and some space and freedom to improve yourself....seems to me he wants you to back off....but he aint 4 so whats his problem anyway, this toddler-boy doesnt sound like a lot of fun for a big girl

I don't know. Do you find yourself correcting his every move and nagging him about everything he does? If so, you are probably sounding like his mother rather than a girlfriend or lover to him. Hence the 4-year old expression.
