WHY should I believe what another human being says, when Allah has given me the QURAN and told me that it is complete and that it is he who will preserve it. He, Allah, does not run out of words and he does not forget. When he says something he means it and when he does not say something he means it. Why should I trust that countless generations of people- humans like myself, who make mistakes like everyone, on the greatest issue of all, religion. WHY SHOULD YOU??
"You have NO duty EXCEPT delivering (Quran)" (42:48)
"Your ONLY duty is delivering (Quran), while we will call them to account." (13:40)
"The messenger has NO function EXCEPT delivering (Quran) and God knows whatever you declare, as well as whatever you conceal. Say, 'The good and the bad are not the same, despite the abundance of the bad.' Therefore, you shall observe God, O you who possess intelligence, that you may succeed." (5:99100)

HADITH & SUNNA = 100% CONJECTURE
Although God declares that Quran is FULLY DETAILED, & shall be the only source, the majority of Muslims have been duped into following the conjecture known as Hadith & Sunna.
While Quran is proven by PHYSICAL EVIDENCE to be the authentic and unaltered word of God (see the book, "QURAN: VISUAL PRESENTATION OF THE MIRACLE"), Hadith and Sunna are unanimously recognized as conjecture.
"Shall I seek OTHER THAN GOD as a source of law, when He has revealed THIS BOOK FULLY DETAILED? ....The word of your Lord is COMPLETE, in truth and justice. Nothing shall abrogate His words; He is the hearer, the omniscient. Yet, if you obey the majority of people, they will take you away from the path of God. That is because they follow CONJECTURE, and they fail to think." (6:114116)
"They insist upon following conjecture, when the guidance is given to them herein from their Lord." (53:23)

No I'm not the one that is confused but you may be. I DO speak arabic (fluently). Allah tells us to follow the example of Mohammed (pbuh) AS HE IS REPSENTED in the holy quran, not as represented by the people who quote him. why should I believe Bukhari ????? Why should I believe Al Hanafi ??? Why should I trust that every person they have quoted as a source for prophit Mohammed's hadith??? are they not human beings ? do they not make mistakes ?? no, sorry, I have chosen to follow the word of God, not that of another human... too bad you haven't yet. Obey the messenger is conditional on having the message, the Quran.
Obey the messenger because of the message he has, the QURAN.
Obey the messenger means to follow his message that is given to him, the QURAN

GOD Tells us to follow SUNNA, THAT WHICH is represented in QURAN . HE tells us that his Quran is complete and we do not need ANY other book. WHY SHOULD I TRUST ANOTHER HUMAN being to bring the right sunna and hadith to me throw countless generations when it was Allah the merciful who said that he will preserve Quran, after he had made it complete for us.
Those who are knowledgeable of the Quran know that there are two sources for the religion of Islam (Submission in English).
1. The Quran which is COMPLETE, PERFECT and fully details all religious LAW.
2. Religious practices given to Prophet Abraham and passed on to us generation after generation since the time of Abraham.
"Your ONLY mission (O Muhammad) is to deliver (Quran), while it is we who will call them to account." 13:40
Quran teaches us that ALL RELIGIOUS PRACTICES IN ISLAM, (Salat, Zakat, Fasting, & Hajj) came to us from Abraham, generation after generation.

Abraham was the founder of Islam (Submission in English) as we practice it today, and the one who called us "Muslims" (Submitters in English).
"You shall strive in the cause of God as you should. He has blessed you, and imposed no hardship in your religion; the RELIGION OF YOUR FATHER ABRAHAM, Abraham is the one who named you "Muslims" in the beginning. Thus, the messenger serves as witness among you, just as you serve as a witness among the people. Therefore, you shall observe the Salat prayers, give the Zakat charity, and hold fast to God; He is your Lord; the best Lord, and the best supporter." 22:78
"Abraham was neither Jewish , nor Christian; he was a monotheist; a Muslim; he never was an idol-worshiper. The people most worthy of following Abraham are those who follow him and this prophet (Muhammad), and those who believed. God is the Lord of the believers." 3:67-68

MORE PROOFS THAT SALAT OBSERVED BEFORE MUHAMMAD.
"O Mary (Mariam), you shall obey your Lord, and shall prostrate and bow down with those who bow down." 3:43
"(Jesus said) God has made me blessed wherever I go, and He commanded me to observe the SALAT PRAYERS and ZAKAT charity for as long as I live." 19:31
But the Jews and Christians lost the SALAT PRAYERS, changed it and invented their own.
"Generations came thereafter who LOST the SALAT prayers, and pursued their lusts." 19:59

MORE PROOFS:
" And we granted him (Abraham) Isaac and Jacob as a gift, and we made them righteous. And we appointed them Imams who guide in accordance with our commandments. AND WE TAUGHT THEM RIGHTEOUS WORKS AND THE OBSERVANCE OF SALAT AND ZAKAT.' 21:72-73
Unfortunately, this plain Quranic truth is not accessible by those who keep trying to prove that Quran is not complete. First they have to come to sincere conviction that Quran is complete, perfect and fully detailed; they have to believe their Lord. Once they attain this conviction, the shields will be removed from around their hearts, the deafness will be removed from their ears and they will become worthy of the Quranic truth.

SALAT (CONTACT PRAYERS ) IN THE QURAN:
Many Muslims do not know that all the five prayers are mentioned in the Quran, their time is clearly mentioned in several verses and that all the steps we do are found also in the Quran.
{1} FIVE PRAYERS A DAY AND THEIR TIME :
God gave us the times for the Salat (contact Prayers) in the Quran :
(1) The Dawn Prayer (Fajr in Arabic) given in 11:114, 24:58

(3) The Afternoon Prayer (Asr in Arabic), given in 2:238
(4) The sunset Prayer (Maghrib in Arabic), given in 11:114
(5) The Night Prayer (Isha in Arabic), given in 24:58
{2} TAKBEER (Glorification of God), Allahu Akbar : The Takbeer (glorification of God) by saying Allahu Akbar for example can be found in 17:111, 2:185, 22 :37, 74:3, and 29:45
[17:110-111] " Say, "Call Him GOD, or call Him the Most Gracious; whichever name you use, to Him belongs the best names." You shall not utter your Contact Prayer

This is a great question, and one that I wondered at during the time in which I was a muslim. Alhamdulillah, it's good to see that people have thought this issue through. Should humanity merely parrot the life of the messenger, or should the word of God take root in the hearts of individuals and give room for a personal, deeply held expression of the Revelation? What would be the point of existing if God had only created us to become Muhammad clones? Or Jesus clones? Or Moses clones? And so forth...

This is a very old statement which has been refuted time and time again by the Scholars. The Quran is the foremost source of knowledge in Islaam and after that is the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad Sallhi Allayhi Wa Salaam. Prophet Muhammad Sallahi Allayhi Wa Salaam was sent to the people as warner and also to teach the people Islaam. Without the Sunnah you would not know how to pray for example. In the Quran Allah says pray but He does not say how to pray. How we pray is to be found in the Sunnah.

Al-Hikmah in the Quran referrs to the Prophet Mohammed's(pbuh) Sunnah. The Quran clearly states that Muslims are those who believe in The Quran and Prophet Mohammed"s(PBUH) sunnah.
The Prophet Mohammed(pbuh) had these jobs delievering the message of the Quran and teaching us Islamic Jurisprudence etc. If you are a Muslim you will know the Quran does not teach Muslims how to pray, Prophet Mohammed(pbuh) did. The Prophet also explained many other things which the Quran did not cover in detail.
read 3:164 ....
Prophet Mohammed's(pbuh) duty was not only to convey the Quran but the entire Message...Maybe you need to get yourself a better translation of the Quran. Seems your a bit confused. This is why it is the responsibility for all Muslims to try and learn Arabic...

The Quran itself told us to follow it and to follow the prophet and obey him. The Quran ordered the prophet to show us how to live, and then the Quran ordered us to follow the prophet.
If you only need to follow the Quran, then tell me how to pray??
The Quran made the Salah obligatory, then the Sunnah showed how to pray.
The Quran told us to clean up before praying, then the Sunnah taught us how.
The Quran told us to get married, then the Sunnah taught us how and what do we need to get married.
Does that make the Quran not perfect?? NO.
The Quran is the words of God.
The Sunnah is the actions and the words of the prophets.
We cannot mix both of them.

The word "Islam" is an Arabic word which means "submission to the will of God "Allah - SWT". This word comes from the same root as the Arabic word "salam", which means "peace". As such, the religion of Islam teaches that in order to achieve true peace of mind and surety of heart, one must submit to Allah (SWT) and live according to His Divinely revealed Law. The most important truth that Allah (SWT) revealed to mankind is that there is nothing divine or worthy of being worshipped except for Almighty Allah (SWT), thus all human beings should submit to Him. The word "Muslim" means one who submits to the will of Allah (SWT), regardless of their race, nationality or ethnic background.
Being a Muslim entails willful submission and active obedience to Allah (SWT), and living in accordance with His message. Some people mistakenly believe that Islam is just a religion for Arabs, but nothing could be further from the truth. Not only are there converts to Islam in every corner of the world, especially in England and America, but by taking a look at the Muslim World from Bosnia to Nigeria, and from Indonesia to Morocco, one can clearly see that Muslims come from many various races, ethnic groups and nationalities. It is also interesting to note that in actuality, more than 80% of all Muslims are not Arabs - there are more Muslims in Indonesia than in the whole Arab World! So though even though it is true that most Arabs are Muslims, the large majority of Muslims are not Arabs. However, anyone who submits completely to Allah (SWT) and worships Him alone is a Muslim.
Qur’an
"THERE IS PROBABLY IN THE WORLD NO OTHER BOOK WHICH HAS REMAINED TWELVE CENTURIES (now fourteen) WITH SO PURE A TEXT." — (Sir William Muir)The
Arabic world "Al-Qur'an" literally means "the recitation". When used in regards to Islam, the word Qur'an means God's final message to mankind that was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. The Qu'ran, sometimes spelled Koran, is the literal the word of God - as it clearly says time and time again. Unlike other sacred scriptures, the Qur'an has been perfectly preserved in both its words and meaning in a living language.
The Qu'ran is a living miracle in the Arabic language; and is known to be inimitable in its style, form and spiritual impact. God's final revelation to mankind, the Qur'an, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad over a period of 23 years.
" When the Qur'an is read, listen to it with attention, and hold your peace: that ye may receive Mercy. " Qur'an 7:204
'The revelation of THIS BOOK is from Allah, the Exalted in Power, full of Wisdon.' Qur'an 39:1
'And before this, was the Book of Moses as a guide and a mercy: And THIS BOOK confirms (it) in the Arabic tongue; to admonish the unjust, and as Glad Tidings to those who do right.' Qur'an 46:12
'Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful.' Qur'an 2:185

Some people have started to claim that the Sunnah is not a source of legislation. They call themselves “al-Qur’aaniyyeen” and say that we have the Qur’aan, so we take as halaal whatever it allows and take as haraam whatever it forbids. The Sunnah, according to their claims, is full of fabricated ahaadeeth falsely attributed to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). They are the successors of other people about whom the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told us. Ahmad, Abu Dawood and al-Haakim reported with a saheeh isnaad from al-Miqdaam that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Soon there will be a time when a man will be reclining on his couch, narrating a hadeeth from me, and he will say, ‘Between us and you is the Book of Allaah: what it says is halaal, we take as halaal, and what it says is haraam, we take as haraam.’ But listen! Whatever the Messenger of Allaah forbids is like what Allaah forbids.” (Al-Fath al-Kabeer, 3/438. Al-Tirmidhi reported it with different wording, and said that it is hasan saheeh. Sunan al-Tirmidhi bi Sharh Ibn al-‘Arabi, al-Saawi edn., 10/132). The name al-Qur’aaniyyeen does not befit these people, because the Qur’aan tells us, in almost one hundred aayahs, to obey the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Obedience to the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is considered in the Qur’aan to be a part of obedience to Allaah, may He be glorified. “He who obeys the Messenger, has indeed obeyed Allaah, but he who turns away, then we have not sent you (O Muhammad) as a watcher over them.” [al-Nisa’ 4:80 – interpretation of the meaning]. The Qur’aan, which they claim to follow, denies the faith of the one who refuses to obey the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and does not accept his ruling: “But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.” [al-Nisa’ 4:65 – interpretation of the meaning]
Their suggestion that the Sunnah is “contaminated” with fabricated ahaadeeth is not valid, because the scholars of this ummah took the utmost care to purify the Sunnah from all alien elements. If they had any doubts about the truthfulness of any narrator, or there was the slightest possibility that he could have forgotten something, this would be sufficient grounds for rejecting a hadeeth. Even the enemies of this ummah have stated that no other nation has paid so much attention to examining its reports and their narrators, especially in the case of reports narrated from the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
For it to be obligatory to follow a hadeeth, it is sufficient for it to be known that it is a saheeh (authentic, sound) hadeeth narrated from the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was content to convey his message by sending just one of his Companions, which proves that the hadeeth reported by one trustworthy person must be followed.
Moreover, we would ask these people: where are the aayaat which tell us how to pray, or which tell us that the obligatory prayers are five times daily, or which tell us about the nisaab on various kinds of wealth for the purpose of zakaah, or about the details of the rituals of Hajj, and other rulings which we can only know from the Sunnah?
Al-Mawsoo’ah al-Fiqhiyyah, 1/44
For more information on the shar'i evidence that the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is a source of evidence, see this: http://www.islamqa.com/index.php?ref=604&ln=eng
