It depends in which context you mean. But if you mean, that you believe something and then change your mind, it could be for a variety of reasons. Really the only good reason to change your mind is to become more informed about the person, opinion, subject, viewpoint that you hold. I never take another persons opinion on any subject as my starting point on anything. I like to find out about a person, subject etc and form my own opinion. If at a later date I find that there is new information that differs from the original then I reassess check it and if it proves my original assessment is wrong then I will 'change my mind' but never at someone elses behest, only by my own investigation.

If you can go to a place that was there before the mind became set, who knows who you will be when you come back?
Bhodidharma went to sleep resting against a tiger.
Perhaps I will lean on a coyote for a little while. And take my tea, tingling in this little room.
Do you feel my weight?

I can't decide whether to open my answer to this Cosmic Question with a or a {{{Hoooowwwlll}}}.

Maybe I'll just do both. Decisions, decisions.

Now, to that answer, what makes it possible to change one's mind ?

Why the same thing that makes everything possible .... the understanding that we always can.

Jon, what can I say ? So many answers stand out, but yours just glows, as does my Cosmically Loving brother's as well.

Persuasion or conscious thought - ie someone else suggests a differing opinion or the person decides to thoroughly think about the issue and comes to their own conclusion.

firstly an ability to look beyond semantics and linguistic phrases and actually read the question and understand its content?!

some folk change their minds gradually over a course of time, others have a sudden burst of realisation, some are persuaded by others.

it depends on one's strength of mind, one's path, one's intentions, how aware, receptive, perceptive and tuned in one is.. in my humble opinion.

Life: facts, feelings. Growing up makes you question everything you believe in all the time. Don't know if there's one single factor that makes one change one's mind.
