first you should decide if you want your party to be themed as in a decor or as in having your guests arrive in themed apparel . . .
hawaian
the 20's, or 60's and 70's
after one of your favorite tv shows
gangsters and thugs
anything but clothes . . . where your guest have to make their outfits out of any material except already made clothing
grafitti . . . where you have all your guests wear white t-shirts and you can draw on eachother and write funny messages
pirates
sports teams and figures
famous musicians
celebrities
use your imagination and make your party theme refelect your personality and you will be satisfied. goodluck

Fortune Telling Party:
Hire a palm reader or have an adult dress like a gypsy and have their palms read. Also use tarot cards to learn to tell fortunes. Serve fortune cookies. For party favors give bangles, moon and star items.
Write Horoscopes: pass out pencils and paper to each guest. The "astrologer" asks them to write various items, the paper is passed to each player AFTER each item is written. Turn the paper down, so no one can read what is above. When completed, the last person signs their name to the bottom. They are then turned in and read using the 'story.'
Disco Party:
Rent a disco ball, strobe light and get together some 70's movies. Have your friends come dressed for disco.
Murder Mystery. These are great for teen parties as they suit both boys and girls and give that element of 'excitment and drama' which teenagers often love

Travel around the world = Pick cool places like Japan, The Artic, Africa, or Spain.. etc..

You could have a hat party. Have everyone show up with a hat on and throughout the party everyone can switch hats.

how about "lucky 13"? you could base the whole party on superstitions. have cracked mirrors as decoration, have everyone dress in black and have spilled salt shakers on the table. you could even line the floor with butcher paper and draw cracks all over it (step on a crack...).
