After joining this site I realized that I have a lot of great ideas for parties, especially sweet 16s. I have been looking for work for a while now and can't find anything, so I am thinking of starting an online party consulting business, you know come up with a theme, plan the menu, decorations, create invitations,etc. Is this a good idea? How much would you pay for someone to plan you birthday party or Event? Do you have any ideas? How should I operate? Business names? (Wow I have a lot of questions, Lol) Thanks!

it sounds like a good ides i'd hire you i am turning 15 next month.i dont know how much id pay it depends on how good the designs are.not sure about business names but i like anything classy and sweet.i love that show too i watch it almost every day.

Most people can go on line and find most of the information you are going to offer. People go to a party planner to have them DO the party. You have to know caterers, people to rent linens and supplies from, contacts that will provide the music for the party. There is also the insurance, tax I.D. number, business license, etc. You'll need a business phone and good credit ( even if you plan only to offer your services on line, you'll need a phone for the vendors to deal with you. I'll offer a site that will help you with your desicion to start your own business. I think maybe you should offer your service to a few of your friends for free, and build a reputation by word of mouth.

What you are talking about is event planning and believe it or not its not that simple.....Remember You Must Have errors and omissions insurance .......if you make a persons party or wedding , etc. and they don't have the same vision as you did on the party (their cake, their decore', again etc.) they have the opportunity to sue you ....look online their are seminars, books and schooling for it....also check to see if you need a certification in your area....you don't where i am but, it definatly helps get you jobs.... Remember to check to see how many others there are in your area because i live in florida and their are alot ....repeat that alot here!!!!
