I'm only fourteen, but, anytime I've tasted wine, I had a pain in my stomach. Is it an allergy? Right when I swallow it, I get sort of queesy.

You might be having a reaction to (I believe) are the sulfites in wine, especially reds. A friend of mine can't drink wine because he gets a headache from the sulfites. Some people are just more sensitive to them, but I wouldn't call it an allergy.

There are more than 100 components of wine that you could be allergic to. Sulfides are the most common.
But it was probably just that you aren't used to drinking. Mix it with ginger ale and see if it still bothers you. But you should wait till you are older than 14.

It is the alcohol content and the sulfites - your digestive tract at 14 is still very immature and drinking now - especially when you body is sending such obvious signals would be a bad idea at best. Good Luck!

Yes, you can, but at only 14 there is no need to 'whine' about it as many people outgrow or overcome some of their allergies as they get older. Alcohol, and the ingedient(s) you may be allergic to, may be found here:

Tannins in the wine (especially red) have histamines that can acutally cause allergies. Often this is the problem that is attributed to sulfites.

You could be. There are a lot of folks that can't have it. Wine is an alcohol, you may have an alcohol tolerance problem, so best just to leave it alone.
