This question was "jogged' by another Y!A member. He had observed that he seemed to notice that 'he' was always with him wherever he went! =D A very keen observation, indeed!

This is at the very root of what some call "enlightenment/awakening".

To take note that there is a constant awareness 'following' you... It is an ALWAYS THERE presence!

As I said to him, even when you are asleep, you are fully aware that you have slept. If this were not the case, you would have huge blanks...I'm here, not here, kinds of blanks!

To continually stay in 'touch' this with this always-there-presence eventually, one dies to the ego driven sense of self...the suffering sense of self

This constant energy/sense cannot die. Your form fades (like that old Polaroid photo!), but energy is constant.

Words! These subtle, yet simple, concepts are so, so difficult to describe. We must keep at it...I guess. Ha ha.

Phil...Is it possible to "star" a reply? Thanks for seeing. :)

Ronndonn,

Yes, it is the key, but very few can see this. Thanks for your response.

Skye,
Awareness/energy is constant. Notice as you go through your days...the 'pictures/events' change, but the awareness is always there...watching.

Yup. What You are is the Awareness that is aware of thoughts , feelings, experience, body. That awareness is not thinking or feeling, it's just witnessing those things happen.

This Awareness cannot be seen with the mind because it is the source of mind rather than one of it's 'objects', but you can sense this Awareness. It's not something 'out there' but rather 'in here', closer than your breath, present before, after and between your thoughts. It is, after all, what makes it possible for you to be 'aware of' anything.

If you can get a sense of this Awareness, you might notice that in the presence of mind's turmoil, it remains undisturbed and is merely witnessing this turmoil happening in experience. The turmoil is not happening 'to' something, it's just happening. The identification with this 'something' that it is happening to, is the false identification of ego which leads to suffering.

You are speaking of the "I am." That's a very interesting topic and could be the very key to knowing God.

Thanks for asking the question.

Was that supposed to be a question, or the presentation of a new dogma?

While I am constant, I also change.

Everything changes.

Impermanence is certain.
