Falcon; new drills for a new world order
The Falcon operations can only be understood in the broader context of the ongoing assault on the constitutional system of checks and balances; including the repeal of habeas corpus, warrantless wiretaps and searches, and the use of torture.
For the last 6 years, the Bush administration has been busy dismantling the legal safeguards which protect the citizen from the arbitrary and, oftentimes, ruthless actions of the state. To that end, detention camps are being prepared by Halliburton within the U.S., secret courts have been established which deny due process of law, American citizens are arrested without charge, law enforcement is increasingly militarized, and the media has strengthened its alliance with the central government.

Additionally, in October 2006, George Bush quietly changed the Insurrection Act, which prevented the President from deploying troops inside the United States. Bush's revision effectively overturns the Posse Comitatus Act which put strict limits on the executive's power to use US troops in domestic situations. Just days earlier Bush signed a similar bill, "The John Warner Defense Authorization Act of 2007" which gives Bush the power to take command of National Guard units across the country which are traditionally under the control of the state governors.
Without fanfare, Bush has taken control of all armed forces and militias inside and outside of the country and now has a monopoly on all the state-sanctioned tools of organized violence. It's a coup that could never have succeeded without the tacit cooperation of the media.
Bush is now free to declare martial law in response to a natural disaster, a pandemic or a terrorist attack. The congress is powerless to stop him.

Also, Bush recently signed the Military Commissions Act of 2006, which allows the president to arbitrarily declare citizens and non citizens “enemy combatants” and imprison them indefinitely without charge. The new law gives Bush the authority to disregard the Geneva Conventions and the 8th amendment's ban on “cruel and unusual” punishment and apply “harsh interrogation” which may include torture. The act effectively repeals habeas corpus, the cornerstone of American jurisprudence and the Bill of Rights.
The Military Commissions Act cannot coexist with the US Constitution; the two are mutually exclusive.
The Military Commissions Act, The John Warner Defense Authorization Act, the Homeland Security Act, the Patriot Act, and the myriad presidential signing statements have conferred absolute power on George Bush. The question is whether or not some incident will arise that will persuade Bush to use his extraordinary new powers.

General Tommy Franks predicted that a “massive, casualty producing event” might cause “our population to question our own Constitution and begin to militarize our country;” a scenario that many see as likely now.
Is that it? Will another terrorist attack provide the rationale for overturning republican government and declaring martial law?
If so, then we should know what to expect.
According to FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) it would mean “the suspension of the normal functions of civilian government, implying the cancellation or postponement of state and federal elections.” (Global Research) It would also “close public and government facilities not critical for continuity of essential operations.” (FEMA)
Northern Command would assume control and under “the classified 'Continuity of Government” (COG) Operations Plan' a secret 'shadow government' would become functional, redeploying key staff to secret locations.” (Global Research)

Also, “all forms of public gatherings or citizen's protests which question the legitimacy of the emergency procedures and the installation of a police state” would be banned. The military would be deployed to carry out “police and judicial” functions.
Martial law in the US would be applied with the utmost attention to public sensibilities and perceptions, avoiding the garish display of force we see in Iraq. It would be a “kinder and gentler” martial law with a limited number of military personnel on the streets (just enough to remind us that things have changed)

and an emphasis on “preemptive” policing operations. (Expect Falcons' 4, 5 and 6 etc) It would probably be disguised by a carefully crafted public relations campaign and a predictably cheery moniker, such as, “The Security Enhancement and Homeland Fortification Act”. The possibilities are limitless.
The Bush administration is also prepared if some unforeseen tragedy befalls congress, like another anthrax attack.
In fact, the American Enterprise Institute, to which the Bush team is closely aligned, has already "issued proposals for the operation of Congress following a catastrophic terrorist attack". They advocate the "APPOINTING" of individuals to the House of Representatives "to fill the seats of dead or incapacitated members, a first in American history" "The Continuity of Government Commission is self-commissioned', its members being neither elected nor appointed by any government body and mostly made up of professional lobbyists". (Coincidentally, Newsweek article “White House Rehearses for Domestic Attack” 2-23-07; “The White House is staging a high-level exercise Saturday to test responses to the prospect of a massive domestic terrorist attack.” These drills are a critical part of the C.O.G. regimen dating back to the Reagan administration)
According to the AEI's plan, the future United States congress will be comprised of lobbyists and industry representatives. What else would one expect from an organization that believes that corporate interests should determine policy?
These are the chilling precedents which have paved the way for further government lawlessness and abuse. They foreshadow the ominous transition from representative government to autocratic rule; from inalienable rights to martial law.

The Falcon operations are just a small part of this larger paradigm. The program is not designed for rounding up minor crooks and drug dealers, (which no one really cares about anyway) but for removing leftists, dissidents and political rivals. These are the real targets. The power of the state is measured in terms of how effectively it defeats or eliminates its enemies. And, the Bush administration has shown a remarkable aptitude for crushing its rivals.
The Crawford Fuehrer
One day, after a particularly savage domestic purge; we can expect President Bush to stride to the presidential podium and reiterate the same words that were uttered by his German predecessor 60 years ago:
"If anyone reproaches me and asks why I did not resort to the regular courts of justice, then all I can say is this: In this hour I was responsible for the fate of the American people, and thereby I became the supreme judge of the American people….

To bobanalyst: Neither. I am sharing information which every American needs to be aware of. This goes beyond party and beyond name-calling. This is the most important thing you and I will be faced with in our lifetimes….the dismantling of America as we know it. It’s happening right before our eyes.
To ZH: Not go to work for a week? Sure, I like the sound of that, but I know of no one who can take that financial hit. Can you? See? It’s one of the most effective means of control available – why do you think bush has intentionally and effectively increased the poverty population in this country for six straight years? People struggling to pay their bills aren’t struggling against their government.

To Speedball: I have been saying for YEARS that I envision hundreds of thousands of people descending on Washington. Civil Disobedience. Just showing up in overwhelming, mind-shattering numbers. Clogging the streets of Washington with cars and bodies and cameras and signs. And tossing hundreds of thousands of “1984” books over the fence of the White House. This is what really needs to happen.
To Bruce J. : I could write you a really long letter. No, friend, it is not what *I* want. Nor is it what any people in my life want. But I do understand what you’re saying. You know that saying, “You never know what you had until it’s gone?” And it is so EERY and so ODD that you mentioned the “looking into citizenship abroad” thing. Very weird. Because for first time in my LIFE I have had those thoughts. I don’t want to be here when it happens, and it WILL happen if large numbers of people don’t start raising holy hell.

To Chris: Oh, honey, yes bush DOES have the “power to make himself dictator.” The first straw was the Patriot Act, the second straw was combining all the departments into the evil beast called “homeland security,l” the third straw was the Military Commissions Act, and the final straw……the Executive Orders he shoved through on May 9. IT’S ALL THERE. IT’S ALL IN PLACE. HE HAS SUCCESSFULLY BYPASSED CONGRESS AND THE JUDICIAL BRANCH. And it just breaks my heart to hear people try to use the second amendment. You poor, poor dear. All that is going to happen to the people who try to “defend their homes” is that they’ll be shot down like dogs. Ruby Ridge? Waco? Individual citizens do not stand a chance.
To penydred: No, my friend. Neither of us are “kooks.” Just like those women the fanatics burned at the stake were not “witches.” It’s just a lot easier for the opposition to harm you by de-humanizing you. Justice is with me.

I felt extremely alienated and, frankly, ODD right after 9/11 because I never, not for one nanosecond, bought into the hoopla surrounding it or the war we declared on an innocent country because of it. The past seven years in America have been eerily surreal -- not connected with global reality or facts or empirical data in any way. Who can justify denying science in the name of profit and lazy, selfish habits? Who can endorse insane consumerism at the price of destroying the very systems which support life? Who can turn their backs on diplomacy and foreign policy in the manner of a petulant six-year-old child?

? Every day for these past seven years I have lived with the specter of Overpowering Dread right beside me, knowing that this current corrupt regime was forging into the heretofore unchartered waters of Totalitarianism in America.
You make a real point about how is it possible for people to be looking right into the FACE of something, and still happily deny it.
I do not know.
I suppose it’s a survival thing. There are those who are simply unable to believe, because the reality is so horrible that one cannot face it. The exact same thing happened in Germany, while Hitler was gaining ground a footstep at a time. Decent people did not believe what they saw occurring right before their eyes because to admit that it WAS occurring would have been too horrific to hold inside their world. They did not see it because they could not allow themselves to see it.

And I see people saying it on these boards over and over, “Oh, that would NEVER happen here! We have the Constitution! We have the Bill of Rights! We have our own guns!”
It makes me weep uncontrollably.
The Constitution has been rendered impotent by the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, and the most recent act of blatant Totalitarianism on May 9. And you guns will not save you, it will only give them an excuse to slaughter you like pigs.
And I am touched by your Patrick Henry quote, as this creed has gone through my mind quite frequently lately. What we are seeing develop is the precise grounds upon which this quote was born. And I believe it fervently. And no, I will not be in front of you because I do not want to die. I want to live. I love my life and I love the fact that through some miracle of chance I was born in America. But yes, I will be right beside you, because I will fight.

So who are thee to wake up the dead
LOL
I am always amazed at how many people do not believe what is right in front of thier eyes. For years I have been warning people about where this country is going and whats happening but no one I talk to seems to believe me - and now - you come a long and spell it out right - and yet - we still have non-beliveres in front of us
Since 1999 I have been saying this country will be in an all out civil war by the year 2012. I may be wrong but events seem to be lining up to keep my prediction pretty much on target.
Bush, following in Hitlers footprints has only one thing left - to decalre the national emergency - once done he will suspend the elcetions in 08, keep himself in office and move this cou try toward the new world order - all in the name of security
He will push the immigration issue and social medicine issue so that the NAU can be formed - then assisgn US troops to the UN and have the UN inside our borders and give legitimacy toward the NWO
Being a lowly person with limited funds - I dont have enough where with all to fund a revolution - but it is coming - by Sept I suspect the motions to creating the next war will be evident - if they are not - maybe - just maybe - all this can be avoided
How good is the timing compared to how fast people can wake up and do something about it. Years ago, marches on Washington might have worked - its beyond that now - now its regime change time - literally - we need a libertarian in ffice to turn back the clock - or else - we need more of the people like our forefathers because its going to be hell to pay when the time comes
Buy your gold and silver now before its too late
Get your ammo ready before its too late
Privatize yourself and get out of the system as much as you can before its too late
In answer to your actual question - I will answer the call when it comes - Patrick had it right back in 1775 when his proclamation went long and wide - "Give me liberty or give me death"
The writing is on the wall - will it be erased with someone like Ron Paul or will the call actually be made - and if it is, will you stand by me or in front of me?

"Treason Never Prospers, What can be the Reason, Just this, Whene'er it Prospers, None Dare Call it Treason."
I was a lot more worried about this back in '03, when Bush pulled out all the stops to start a war in Iraq. Traditionally, would be Dictators have always gotten loyal troops as far from the capital as possible to prevent their intervention in a coup. The fact that Bush chose to commit so much of the Guard and Reserve was a warning sign in that direction. The creation of the Dept of Homeland Security, with it's removal of Civil Service Protections looked a lot like an attempt to build a private army answerable only to the President.
A lot has changed in 4 years. Bush has pissed off everyone except his true believers. In the event of an attempted Coup by the Busheviks, Most military units would invoke the sections of the Universal Code of Military Justice regarding illegal orders to Declare their Allegiance to the Constitutional Government. So would most of the Guard. The cops would defend local populations almost to a man. The FBI is the most heavily armed of the Law Enforcement Arms of the Homeland Security Forces and also has good reason to hate Bush.
You can always find SOME troops willing to shoot up the populace in any Army. But the kind of numbers Bush would need to make it stick just aren't there.
Let's keep the Death Penalty just in case, though. The next president might want to do a thorough investigation and there are probably plenty of people in Bush's camp who rate the last needle.

This scares me!!! Not the fact that Bush has done what he has done, but the fact that congress lets it happen. These acts do not get passed without going through congress. I know the politicians don't read the act themselves rather than have an aid read it and give a summary on the bill. Where are the red flags!! Why aren't the presidential candidates standing up and SCREAMING about this situation that is totally plausible by the way.
For the ney sayers, get of it. You were wrong about this man. Did it bother anyone when he hired all his dad's old chronies? Seems to me that a plan has been devised for a long time, back to when Big Bush was leading the CIA.

Funny how ya hear alot of --that can't happen -- NOT IN AMERICA!! But what happened to the Towers should not have happened--in America-but it did!-- What happened with Katrina--should never have happened in America--but it did!
Had a soldier that just got out a couple years ago- say he knows - Bin Laden has been in the cross hairs-- and the higher ups said not to fire....... Why??
My frustration is with my fellow Americans that just take things as they are-never questioning anything!!! The one thing that amazes me the most was the idea of Clinton having "relations" w/ the chick in the Whitehouse-- has been a bigger crime than someone sending our soldiers off to a war based on lies-- or someone trying to do away with the U.S. Constitution! Talk about messed up!!

I know exactly what you are saying. Word for word. I have felt the winds of change blowing rather harshly lately. And you have put it into the perfect thought. We all need to start remembering our history classes because this is not a new tale. We also know what great outcomes can happen when we are given a good leader to follow. Our fore fathers who started this country know this to be true. Unfortunatly money has a way of corrupting otherwise good judgment in men. Exspecially these days. When the world is for sale. I believe here in lies the problem. Money, and the Economy should not have anything to do with the governing of peoples lives because it is enslaving us all to be laborers for the rich. Remeber the days of Gods and Clods, Kings and peasants. Power and money has the undeniable ability to corupt the unenlightend mind. If we replaced our senators with monks would we have this problem? As far as asking me what I will do. My answer is everything possible for the protection of the earth and all of it's creatures. What we have been waiting for is a peacfull warrior who can lead this change with a megaphone and a whole lot of tenacity for what is morally bankrupt about OUR country. Because Lets face it If our government Leaders are Morally bankrupt then the country they run will be thought of as morally bankrupt and that upsets me rather so because I will not sell out human life for money and I am not morally bankrupt are you?

What amazes me most is the republican response to the loss of constitutional freedoms and massing of power by the executive branch. Had Bill Clinton done these things would they have been fine with it? Will they be fine with it when the next president takes office. Do they expect Bush to sign a law when he leaves that all power is taken away? Government never gives back any power. You are looking at a revolution against the American people by its own leaders.
