You can get herpes (cold sores) from sharing a drink with someone who has cold sores. You can also get them from sharing a cigarette, chap stick, lip stick, or basically anything a person with cold sores has had their lips on and you immediately use it after them.

Cold sores are NOT considered a STD, like genital herpes is, because the most common way of contracting them is by kissing someone who has them, not by sex or sexual contact.

Yes. herpes 1 if u drink from another person's drink, you can get it even if they are not having outbreak symptoms (i.e. cold sores) herpes is contagious even when symptoms not present. herpes also has NO CURE, and there are only pills to suppress outbreak symptoms they don't kill the virus. once u got herpes, u got it for life, just remains inactive most of the time.

and why would you even think of wanting to share a drink with someone else? u don't know what they got! not a good idea in my opinion, unless u dating seriously this person or married to them and u know what they have and don't have for diseases.

NO, only if the bleed or put bodily fluids in on the drink holder, then the risk is low. Herpes if the infection is to the mouth can be transmitted, but the risk is low.
