hernia cannot be "cured", it is a physical break in the musculature and must be repaired surgically. Depending on the location of the hernia, the risk can be high or fairly low. The risk being that a part of the bowel can become entrapped in the hernia, circulation to that part cut off and the tissue dieing causing peritonitis and potential death from infection. If you have a hernia, a doctor should at the least be monitoring it on a regular basis.
