I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and it could be anything from indigestion to IBS. These over the counter medications can also cause this problem stop taking them instead drink peppermint tea or fennel tea.Ginger is great for poor digestion. First you have to find out what it is, If its IBS then get yourself some Lepicol and also take actimal every morning as well as Lepicol. You must drink at least 2 litres of water a day. We have enzymes in our gut that process our food if we don't have enough our digestion is impaired. Actimel and yakult contain these. Lepicol will clean out your intestines and add bulk to your stools. Aloe Vera tablets do the same as Lepicol but they are slower to work. You will also find that a digestive problem does affect our breathing.
You can get lepicol from the health store and actimel or yakult from a supermarket. Watch out for any blood in the stools. Keep an eye on your urine for any change in colour or smell.
If after 2 weeks you feel no better you MUST see the Dr again and if you don't get any satisfaction then either change your Dr or make a complaint to the general medical council. Pain in the abdominal area can be serious, Dr's are well aware of this. Don't let the Dr send you to a pain clinic, they are useless.

I really hate it when people say OH get to the hospital immediately!!! Thats as much ignorance as those who ignore chest pain totally!
You need to seek urgent medical assistance if:
The pain is tight and crushing (like a band around your chest)
It does not alter in nature or severity if you move, or take a deep breath
If the pain is sharp and stabbing it is not a heart attack, if the pain gets worse when you take a deep breath it is not a heart attack, if the pain gets worse when you stretch or put hands above head it is not a heart attack.
You should go to your doctor, taking antacids regularly for more than one week needs investigating. He can prescribe you much stronger medication to help with your pain.
Try not to panic too much, you doc may be side tracked by this, and think that your chest pains are panic attacks without paying too much attention to your indigestion problems. You sound as though you have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), please do see your doctor again.

Maybe you should make an appointment to see your GP or Practice nurse rather than ask the question here.
Your indigestion could be oesophagitis (leaking hydrochloric acid from your stomach burns the food tube) or a stomach ulcer, so needs to be investigated. You could have a wheat intolerance.
The chest pain could be pleurisy.
I'm no doctor or nurse but worked on the fringes of health care
so have a little knowledge and know enough to say ask the experts

One of two possible factors- it is either gas or hormonal - you may want to try drinking some hot tea or something with cinnamon in it which stimulates the bowels.
I used to get this especially prior to my menstrual cycle, deep breathing feels like a sharp pain under the boob area and then when you try to rest it feels like a dull ache. And yes, this goes away and comes back. It could be a combo of gas AND hormonal (both) and when this happens boy is it ever painful to take a deep breath or even move!
You may consider taking a Bayer or aspirin of some kind, this usually helps ease the episodes of this as well.

Noncardiac chest pain (I assume your doctor has ruled out cardiac problems!) may be caused by:
1. Pleuritis. Inflammation of the membrane that lines the lungs. Read about this at http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/pleurisy/DS00244
2. Costochondritis. Inflammation of the cartilage around your breastbone. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/costochondritis/DS00626
3. GERD. You mention indigestion; GERD can cause chest tightness and chest pain. Read about GERD at http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/gerd/DS00967
4. Yes, anxiety can be a cause. However, if you have one of the above conditions, treating the anxiety will not help the condition!
Regarding GERD: If you have indigestion after every meal, you may need to be evaluated for this condition. During GERD, your lower esophageal sphincter does not close properly and stomach acids are forced into the esophagus. If the esophagus becomes inflamed, it may erode (erosive esophagitis). Barrett's Esophagus, a precancerous condition, may then occur; then esophageal cancer may occur. You do not have to have indigestion or pain for this to be happening. There are many medications for GERD, such as Nexium, Protonix, and acipHex, that change the pH of your stomach acids and help your esophagus heal.

My husband had really bad chest pains all the time. The muscle under his heart wasn't getting enough oxygen. Every time he would go to the doc they would always say it's indigestion, so don't take that as a diagnosis.

Seriously dont even wait to make an appointment...You need to take an aspiran (bayer if you have it) and get down to the hospital immediatly. Chest pains are a huge red flag especially if your having trouble breathing as well. Dont take a chance.

Part of this sounds like it could be bronchitis related. It seems to be going around and I just got over it. I would recommend seeing your doctor for further evaluation of the situation and also because of the heartburn and indigestion you have going. With the heartburn and indigestion that could indicate a condition called Acid Reflux Disease.

I used to get this every single day and it's annoying.
You have trapped wind honey and yes it hurts, can make you feel sick and you panic.
I drink peppermint tea now and boy do you burp and fart but at least its not trapped and making you in pain.
If you are worried though see your doc.
