I am very itchy around the groin area and was diagnosed with Tinea from my doctor, which makes sense after I read up on it.
I was watching tv last night and a tv ad on genital herpies came on and made me think it could be that. It's very itching, but no real sign of anything, maybe a tiny tiny bit of redness, but really hardly anything at all. I have had it for over a year. Would I know if I had genital herpies, or should I get it checked out for a second time?

Genital herpes can be very itchy, but it's also VERY painful, especially the first outbreak. There are large, red, swollen sores that can open and puss. It's awful!

Get a second opinion. You can always ask to have a blood test done too. Genital herpes can be diagnosed by a physical exam and/or a blood test. Good luck!
